protest near Bush farm....

I think this is the primary point:

I don't have a problem with disagreeing with the war, or the administration et al. I do think it's a tad despicable for people to use the death of a brave and honorable soldier, as fuel for their political agenda. Especially when it's an agenda with which the soldier more than likely did not agree.

The gun stunt just seems low-rent and as much of a publicity stunt as anything. What did it accomplish? Just cause you can do something does'nt mean you should or that it is a good idea.

perhaps you should be applying this moral judgement to the mother instead

zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.....................

Was that troll bait I just saw go flashing by??????

JEEZ, if they are both within their rights, then how can either of them be wrong???

Sounds like a liberal in hiding here,........

........"Your free speech is only right if your thinking the way some people, eghad & ben...ohwhathehell, are thinking"...........

Are you sure your not my senior English teacher?, she had that "your opinion is only right if it matches my opinion" outlook!

that is what it sounds like those misguided few are saying!

GOD BLESS TEXAS, GOD BLESS THE MEMORY OF A FALLEN HERO, AND GOD BLESS AMERICA!

Send her to Tennessee and I'll have a little practice on my land as well!

Yeah! He should go out and shoot...
We don't advocate violence here even if we are trying to make a sarcastic point. Just because they do it at the DU site and at the MTV site doesn't mean it is right.

One thing we need to remember is that the neighbor has a ranch of several hundred acres and it is common and acceptable to practice with firearms on one's own property. If it was in good taste to do so last month with the protestors weren't there it is equally so to do now. Political statements should not be made in the backyards of innocent bystanders.

We must remember we have become a society that wants to blame someone for our problems
In this case she is trying to look the cause of her "problem" eyeball to eyeball... Bush! If I had the time and the money, I'd join her and shoot some clay pigeons with Bush's neighbor to boot! :D If we wait for Bush to end this war at his speed (he's kind of slow don't you know) it will cost hundreds more American lives all for the same result. :barf:

He should go out and shoot that grieving mother in the face with his shotgun. What a HERO!!

Yep, that's the response to get people to agree with you

The guy is free to shoot on his property. If they don't like it, they can pick up and move. They are bothering him, if it were me, I'd probably bother them back. If it means shooting some clay pigeons every day, fine. If it means sunbathing nude in their view, fine. He is simply protesting the protesters interfering with his life. Isn't it his right to protest? And if it isn't, why is it the mothers?

She actually met with the prez some time ago. He's met with many parents of the fallen, and she was one of them. She just wants to meet with him again to demand an answer as to why we went to war.

I just saw her on HardBall. I feel bad for her and her loss -- can't imagine what it's like to suddenly not have a son anymore, especially to a cause you don't believe in -- but her bias was clear.

She also believed it was bad to invade Afghanistan, because we should have just "gone after Al Qaeda." To his credit Chris did press her a bit and ask how we could go after Al Qaeda without going after the governemnt supporting them. To which she mostly shrugged and said she's not really a military strategist.

So ... she makes absolute statements and then shrugs off having to explain the logic.

It's definitely her right ot protest however she wants and more power to her. Whether you like her or not her son is dead.

I do have this feeling, however, that she is being heavily manipulated by the Michael Moore crowd.

I understand how she could be against the war before it happened. Now that we are where we are, though ... if we just pull out her son's death accomplishes nothing.

if i had lost a loved one in this senseless war i would be right there with her. she is wasting her time though if she really thinks shes going to accomplish anything other than getting a nice tan.

bush has no conscience, its not HIS kids over there risking thier lives.

More on the Mom...

She has also stated demands for the Palestinians too........ Now, that's rich... I am sure if we look close enough we might see an ear phone hooked to her head. Someone is feeding her the lines to express to the media and camera teams. She is in her rights to say anything she pleases.... and if that means she gets time on Leno then so be it......... She is funny ;)

The rest of her family has made a statement against her actions. They don't feel the way she does. Sure is funny how that gets very little to no time on the hot box. Do the words "Agenda Driven" come to mind? They sure do to me.

Let me ask the question in another way.......... Note: I still like my skunk welcome sauce and continue to advocate it's use.

Anyhow......... For those whom say she and all the tenters, campers, media trucks and vehicles have the right to liter the road up and down......what looks like a country back road.......... If you lived on it and had a house and land next to these growing parties how would you like it???? Don't lie you would be bitching up a storm and calling 911 and demanding the law get these people moving on........ If you argue that, your kidding yourself and the rest of us...... How about when they need to go bathroom......and the tree they pick to call the spot is on your fence line? Still want them there and freedom shouldn't have any restrictions right......? Still trying to tell me you wouldn't mind 100 maybe 200 or more people gathering for a long stay? Ya, sure you don't mind .......... heck you might even offer to feed and water them......have them over for a camp fire and smores.............. B S

and I think the skunk and fox pee could and should be applied daily until total effect is felt by those camping without a permit......... :D

God Bless America

if i had lost a loved one in this senseless war i would be right there with her.

Even though your loved one signed up for the 'senseless' war, meaning they probably believed in it? And if not, they did volunteer for the Army, knowing they could be sent to war?

I agree with that 100%, it is more than a tad despicable for people to use the death of a brave and honorable soldier as fuel for their political agenda. I think Mom has every right to protest this war, and that she is apparently doing so in a manner that is within the laws.

To be fair though, isn't it even more despicable to cause the death of a brave and honorable soldier to further a polictical agenda? Who carries the larger sin here?

That particular sword is very sharp and cuts both ways.

Flame suit is on.

No need for the suit.....

I respect your view...... You have as much right as I have.......

I keep falling back to - If you had a nice hunk of land and all of a sudden a bunch of uninvited folks showed up, what would you do in a legal manner to help them find a new spot.........? Talk to them? Ask them to please go, so your cows go back to normal milking schedule........ or do you get a little twisted and take a stand and flex your skunk glands?

I am trying to have a little fun and humor here...... I know and respect the very nature of what these (most) protesting in the ditch are about..... I don't think they are going to get what they want......and after 5 days a normal minded person would move on to other things - wouldn't they? Doesn't anyone have a job in that group, besides the media and the Mom's coaching staff??????

I wonder if he could put a few spot lights up and shine the crowd? Is that against the law down there? Seems ok and another idea along with the skunk punch.........?

Rojo: If it was me I would try to sell them food and lemonaid, set up a porta-pott and charge admission. Rent travel trailers and set them up and rent them out again to the reporters for 10 times the costs.....in other words, consider them a crop to be harvested and get after it. It is a true golden opportunity for him, and what better revenge than taking all that lettuce to the bank?

You've got to feel sorry for her. After all the poor kid was drafted and they told him he would be hanged if he didn't report for duty. They fed him nothing but hardtack and salt pork and made him march 30 miles a day then line up with his 10,000 best friends and march into the enemy cannon fire...

Oops! Wrong senseless war. How silly of me. :o

You've got to feel sorry for her.

I agree, she has my deepest sympathies. Her son is dead, and any way you want to characterize that, she is suffering from the realization of the worst fear of every parent, to outlive their children.

Regardless of her politics or her protest techniques, she is a Mother who has lost a Son.

She is a disgrace. God bless her son. May he rest in peace.
Cindy's husband just filed for divorce. Good for him.

Well... First of all, remove the flame suit because I'm only going to reply, not napalm you!

Does that mean every president/administration in power at time of war is despicable because they caused the death of countless brave and honorable soldiers? This probably boils down to your opinion of a particular war.

We're talking about a woman who lost her son, who is being manipulated (giving her the benefit of the doubt) by organizations and groups with an obvious political agenda. They couldn't give a cow-pie about her and her son but they know America will let the sympathy flow to her, and through her, to them and their agenda.

I find these groups GROSSLY more despicable than any president that has ever served this nation. I can't really draw a parallel between the two sides of this sword as you put it - at least in the way you’re swinging it.

I live within several miles of Crawford and some of you think the neighbor is stupid for firing a weapon on his own weapon on his own land. By some of your posts some of you seem to thing his property is a piece of land just big enough to fit a small house on. That area is not the suburbs. Properties are quite large and its possible to fire a shotgun full of birdshot and noboby nearby will be in any danger.

Plus some people out there dove hunt off their back porch.

saddest part of this is that her son was killed instead of her.

now her hubby has filed for divorce. i hope he makes the bee miserable. maybe she can marry mikey moore :D

Okay...do you think it would have turned in to a protest if Bush had just had the balls to out there and give this lady 15 minutes of his time? We had to go to war with Afganistan, but Iraq was a different story and reads more like a vendetta. And now Bush really looks like a clown not just coming out and talking to her up front.
About the only good point about this clown we had to elect is his views on gun control. Come on, instead of going after Bin Laden in Northern Pakistan he's getting our kids killed 'liberating' Iraq--who gives a $!@* about Iraq. Yah! Now we have our own little Gaza strip--just what we always wanted.
