Pride of your arsenal

....I'm surprised at those that have a problem with the word "Arsenal"....Arsenal is defined as a collection of weapons. (www.merriam-webster.com) The only stigma attached to it is what is given by the person who is insulted or scared of how THEY interpret its meaning.

True.....arsenal is a collection of weapons. My firearms are not weapons....unless I choose to use them as such in an offensive or defensive manner.

And the semantics keep flying,,,

I'm cracking up here,,,
We are worse than the gun-haters.

Arsenal or Collection,,,
Armory or not armory,,,
Weapon or not weapon,,,
Gentlemen, it's not important.

Like the man said in the movie,,,
"Lighten up Francis."

Hard to choose:
High Stand GB 22- Dad's gun
S&W 686 6"-My 1st handgun
Dan Wesson CBOB- Justs puts a smile on my face when I shoot it.

Thanks for the comments about the Red 9. I am pretty sure it has been refinished, however it was done really well. I bought it from a co-worker, who had bought it at an estate sale as is.
I must be getting old, I had to google "steampunk".

On the practical side...

The practical pride of my collection is the gun that has lain dormant in the safe for awhile, and ofttimes the subject of almost violent derision from the gun community. I recently reacquainted myself with little gem and it is now my daily carry once again.

May I present the humble Taurus 605. :D

It's currently loaded with Buffalo Bore 158gr Short Barrel .357mag tipped with Speer God Dot.

Oddly enough, out of all my weapons, this one fits my hand the best!! I have short thumbs, so reaching the mag release button on autos is a pain, with the exception of my heel release and Walther P99. The trigger reach is perfect much like the earlier poster who figured the ergonomics engineer snuck in and took a mold of his hand!!! Plus, I figure that the grand old magnum can handle critters ranging from no legs to four. ;)

Hey Glock-19,,,

There was a cartoon in old Playboy I've been trying to find for years now.

It showed an older couple in what looks like downtown NYC,,,
They are dressed in "going to a broadway play" clothes,,,
There is a dead bull elephant dying on the sidewalk,,,
(maybe it was a rhinoceros)
The man is nonchalantly reloading a double-rifle.

The caption reads: Wife says - "Okay, I'll never tease you about it again."
(or something like that).

Your tag line reminded me of it,,,
Sure wish I could find a copy of it.

My Pride would have to be my Springfield Trophy Match. Its simply an amazing weapon.

However I have lots of guns that hold a special place. The remington 870 I got for christmas when I was 13 and the two remington 700's (.270 and .243)that once belonged to my father.

Don't laugh, but I really enjoy my HiPoint carbine. Definitely gets the most use.

My CZ carbine is a real beauty but I can't afford ammo quite as much.

That may all change after this weekend though when I go to pick up my Garand from the CMP.:D

I just picked up a Sig Mosquito 22 semi auto and for shear fun it can't be beat. The gun is supposed to be ammo sensitive but I was using the cheap Federal ammo from Walmart and didn't have a single problem is over sixty rounds. No recoil, low noise, accurate and almost no ammo cost... what's not to like?

I reload and picking up brass gets old fast. I'm not going to stop shooting 9mm, 40 s&w, 38 special but it's going to be nice to be able to go out and shoot up a couple hundred rounds and just leave it on the ground.

Another favorite is my Ruger Mini 14 tactical. It's loads of fun to shoot and just looks so bad, as in good bad. I don't live out in the country but the Mini 14 would be perfect for anyone needing to control livestock predators plus self defense out where law enforcement is scarce.

new to the forums, although i have been checking things out the past few days:

My favorite is my new M&P .40
Just bought it last saturday. But I do have to say that I absolutely love all my guns. One that holds a special place (it was my dad's and he passed away 2 years ago) is a Colt series 80 .40cal 1911. Not too many of them made and it's a great shooting gun. I have since cleaned it and put it back in it's case and locked it up. Also love the S&W .357 Highway Patrolman model that he left to me. It was his carry gun when he was in law enforcement.

nice to be part of the forums

Maybe my Mini-14 is my favorite overall
My Kahr T9 is my favorite pistol and obviously autoloader
I have a 38 S&W colt police positive blued which is really nice. I think a 38 special that was nickel would be my favorite revolver.
K31 is my favorite bolt gun, although I am in the market for a Marlin 981TS and it may take that role.

My Moss 500 persuader is my favorite shotgun and the highest utility gun I have. If I had to choose one that would be it, but as is I have specialized guns that do every task except home defense better so it doesn't see a whole lot of use, especially with its factory barrel.
