Pride of your arsenal

A small rant....

Yes, the op did use the word arsenal, but he posted in the General Handgun Forum. Therefor, one infers that he is referring to our "arsenals" of HANDGUNS (if we have one), so posting pics of our favorite long arms just kind of bugs me. It implies you don't understand (or don't care) about what was asked for.

I know we all love to show off our favorites, but since this is a handgun forum, why not save the rifles and shotguns (and drillings, etc.) for the forum, where they will be appreciated the most?

And it implies that you are a tad anal retentive...

Your staff, instead of whining about it move it to the general discussion forum.

I'm thinking perhaps a broader version for general discussion. While i did intend for this thread to be pistol-specific, there should be an opprotunity for long-gun owners to show off their favriotes.

He asked for "guns" not handguns. Wouldn't be the first time someone posted in the wrong forum.

I guess that I get a "do over" since I posted a pic of a long gun. Favorite handgun is an Ed Brown Special Forces because it is a quality handgun that is fun to shoot.

I think my favorite is the S&W model 19-5. Because it was a birthday present from my Wife. I tend to shoot the Colt .22 and the Colt .45 the most

I have a very "young" collection of about 20 guns ranging from a 150 year old 3 banded Enfield to an AR-15. But despite my love of old beautiful guns my favorite is my Glock 20 SF. Because to me, it is simply the best it can be in everyway.

Sorry if I turned the stomach of any plastic haters. At least there's no picture.:)

I guess I will post a do-over since I posted a long arm first...

I will have to choose my Redhawk for it's versatility.

Sorry, guess I was having a bad day

Didn't mean to come off all whiny:rolleyes:

We're all proud of our favorites (I' show off mine but I can't remember the darn password!)

BY all means, guys (and gals) do over if you want to. We like seeing them.

Long guns just seemed...off topic. (and yes, I could have moved the thread, but I felt it belongs where it is.)

Pride of the collection, that's a tough one:
For shear craftsmenship and rarity: S&W Performance Center 686 Hunter (Lew Horton Special).
#2 would be a Ruger Super Blackhawk with full custom treatment by Mag-Na-Port.
For sentimental value: my deceased son's M&P15T loaded with accessories OR his Tromix customized Saiga 12.
His carry gun, Springfield Lightweight Champion Operator will be with me till I pass it on to his brother and he to his son.
God Bless you Eric, till we meet again.

Since I just started shooting less than a year ago, I don't have too much in my collection. Just a SIG Sauer P6 and a Ruger Mark II NRA Endowment.

The Ruger is definitely my "pride". It's a standard Ruger Mark II (4.75" tapered barrel, fixed sights, blued) with ivory-colored grips, and engraving -- Bill Ruger's signature and a hybrid Ruger/NRA crest on the receiver, and the Ruger logo on the back of the bolt.

I bought it brand new and unfired when I was looking for a .22 LR pistol. I had narrowed my choices down to either a used Mark II in good condition or a new Mark III. But when I found a brand new, special edition Mark II selling for just a tiny bit more than what a new Mark III would have cost me, my choice was made for me!

YouTube video I made giving an overview of the Ruger Mark II

OK, a do-over...

This is an early Kimber Compact Aluminum from the mid/late 90's before all the safety changes and other nonsense. From the beginning I intended this piece to be all bizness. I had the trigger smoothed just a tad. I had the metal parts (slide, etc) coated with one of those baked on molybdenum coatings. There's skateboard tape on the front of the grip. I had the sights replaced with a half-aperture rear and Hi-Viz front - you ignore the rear sight and put the glowing dot on the target and the slug lands right there. It's very fast! Not good for long range shooting, but that's not the weapons purpose. It's a carry gun

The only fancy touch are the walrus ivory stocks that a native friend made for me.

I've put many, many thousands of rounds through this piece without a single jam.

the pride of my weapons is my S&W .32 modle 1905 made in 1923. the reason is simple for me
1 it is a fun (but expensive) gun to shoot
2 its a good gun to show some one revolver functions
3 most importantly i am the fourth generation in my family to own this gun it was originally owned by my great grandfather

this gun isnt ideal for carry or defence but im sure any one can see why it is a great range gun and my personal favorite gun that i currently own and probably will remain the favorite untill i die.

Taking it to the range is like going to the prom with the prettiest girl in school.

Yeah, till you find that NASTY TRAMP in the parking lot with her lags wrapped around some college guy in a steamed up Chevy Camaro with all your friends standing around watching and laughing at you!

Sorry, sorry... I should have gotten over that years ago...

My favorite?

Well, since I am in Kodiak and my Sig SP2022 (9mm) just doesn't cover all the bases, I'd have to go with my Glock 20SF (10mm) with EFK National Match barrel...

I know, it's almost a sin to bring it up in a thread so blessed with high-quality 1911's and revolvers, but you asked...

I own several guns, and have owned various makes and models over the years. My all time favorite handguns are- Ruger mkII Target 10" for plinking/taget use, my CZ 40B is my favorite semiatuo, my Walther PPS is my favorite for daily carry. Oh, and my Smith 640 is my favorite revolver.
