PING: 10mm Fans...

So, if you already have several 10mm pistols (or more than one), the question would be "Which one would you keep?"
I got a better question I have 5 good shooting 10mms and a plenty of 180gr gold dots to fill'em up, do you really want to try to take 4 of them away?

Couldn't limit it to just one. Maybe one revolver and one semi. Ruger 10mm-38/40 has one of the best finishes of any Ruger and single actions are just so classic. If only one auto loader it would be the Sig P220. Very accurate, great trigger and good looking.

I think you're confusing me with Hillary. Actually, she'd want to take all FIVE. ;)

I was just trying to create a scenario where you HAD to choose just one, like gun-to-your-head decision time (think "Sofie's Choice"). Perhaps that's an impossible question for you to answer...much like if someone ask me to pick a favorite guitar player, or favorite band. Even with a gun to my head, it would be impossible for me to choose just one.

If I buy a 10mm it will be a Glock 40. I've been eyeing it for a while, I just find it hard to justify because I don't really have a purpose for it.

I only have one--a 20 sf--and it's the "queen of the fleet" when it comes to conversions--but I have a hard time getting the grip down just right. My opinion the best one is going to be the one that fits your hands the best so that you can control it the best. That's some mighty fine shooting saleen--I tried forever to get a P220 in 10 but could never find one.

I've got the G-20, and G-29, a Delta Gold Cup, and a Government (stainless no photo) model. Great guns, but everybody knows that. :)

I have never suffered from that affliction...which is probably why I have more guns in my safe than dollars in my bank. In fact, I'm sad to say that several guns in my collection that have less than 50 rounds through them. I guess I suffer from a different kind of affliction.

Oh well, better than spending it on hookers and blow...at least that's what I tell my wife!! :D

Dan wesson Bruin 10mm 6" barrel would be my choice, or a higher end wilson combat model
6" barrel.

I had a gen3 G20 and liked it alot, just couldnt shoot it worth a darn, grip was too large for my
Hands

That's true--I too have that same issue and it takes me a alot of hand squirming to get satisfactory results.

The G20 and G21 have had a good bit of success, but I can't help but think that if Glock had made their grips just a slight bit smaller/more ergonomic, perhaps sacrificed one round, they would really have won over a lot more people.

Dhart,

I Completely agree that glock should have done a little more fine tuning and engineering/ergonomically corrected the 20/21 frame (grip). If the (gen 3) grip would have been slightly shorter front to back , and slightly narrower side to side, i think it would have fit mt hands better and i would have been able to shoot it as well as i shoot most other full size pistols.

I frequently tell people looking to buyca 20/21, you'd better have some freakin big hands, or you just flat out wont be able to get a solid grip and achieve good accuracy.

I dont have small hands by any means, i believe i wear a size 8 glove, and generally a size large fits my hands about perfect. I am short, but stout, with extemely strong and beefy hands, yet for whatever reason the grip shape combined with decent recoil would cause torquing in my hand upon firing, and accuracy suffered severely. Hated to see that gun go, as i really liked 10mm and the glock platform at the time

maybe the 20/21 should come with a warning "best for shooters that wear size 12 shoes or better.";)

I wear an extra large glove size and can handle the size of the G20SF/G21SF, but I do find grips that are just slightly smaller and somewhat more ergonomic to be much more enjoyable to handle and shoot with.

All it would take to make the G20SF/G21SF much more widely appreciated by the shooting public is a little bit more grip reduction.

There are a lot of shooters who find the G20SF/G21SF to be just a little too large for comfort. Glock would be wise to upgrade the grip on these models, especially in light of the numerous "more ergonomically advanced" models available now, such as HK45, SIG P320, M&P45, and the PPQ 45.

Put me in that camp, My fingers are fairly short and grip circumference and trigger reach on many guns just don't work well.
My STI framed double stack 45 works well enough but my Para frame is just enough bigger that it's not as easy to control recoil one handed. And I got no chance of reaching both the safety and the trigger on a CZ or Witness DA

I have to say I'm surprised a 4 page thread about 10mm only included one reference to the Sig. Has it priced itself out of the market, is it terrible, or is it just so good at being a 10mm that it gets overlooked for having no flaws? I like, but don't love my 1006, and as values rise, the thought of trying to trade it for the Sig grows. Mostly the trigger on the S&W does it in, both s/a and d/a action is mediocre at best. And sadly I just can't get myself excited about Glocks, that grip angle just kills it for me. Maybe one of these days I'll try the newer ones with the updated grips, but it still feels and looks awkward to me whereas every time I get a Sig in my hand, it just feels right.
