I own three 10mm pistols- Glock 20 & 29; and a Sig P220.
If I could only have one of them, it would be the Glock 29 hands down. It is a versatile gun. I carry it while backpacking, hiking, hunting, and it is my preferred CCW during the colder months.
I load all of my own 10mm ammo, and I have had great results through the 29. My 135gr Nosler jhp loads are just shy of 1500 fps, and my 180gr Speer Gold Dot loads are 1200 fps. The 165gr Speer Gold Dot chrono'd at 1350 fps.
That to me is what makes the 29 so appealing; it's size, and the wide variety of ammunition that the G29 can shoot with 100% reliability.
It's size allows it to be carried and used for a variety uses. The range of bullet weights available in 10mm, especially to reloaders, allows for many choices to suite your needs- from 135gr, 155gr, 165gr, and 180gr for self defense; and 180gr-220gr for carry in the woods.
