If you could only choose ONE (factory production) 10mm pistol to own, which one would it be...and why??

G29. I bought the G20 1st and have had it for years. Bought a G29 to have something more compact. I give up about 50 fps with the G-29, no measurable accuracy and I can use either 10 or 15 round magazines.

The 2nd choice would be a S&W 1006.

CDE (Colt Delta Elite) because it us wonderful for protection.

Uhhhh... yeah what he said. :D

JK of course. To me, the Glock 20 is the best 10mm ever produced. You get a full 4.5" bbl to give proper 10mm ballistics, and an impressive 15+1 capacity. It's also relatively light for it's size.

The best and most advanced 10mm on the market, and it has been for years.

I like the S&W 10xx tanks. My flavor is the DAO models. I think the slide mounted safeties make the gun ugly but that's just me.

Only one... comes down to the G29. Its not that I don't like some of the other 10MM options more but one would be hard pressed to articulate what any of them do that the G29 does not do (often better). If the argument comes down to sight radius and barrel length the G20 can be part of the conversation.

And I would be super annoyed at having to chose only one. Because I LIKE some of the other options more

I've stated this before: I've always had a liking/fascination with the 10mm cartridge. I don't like what the 10mm cartridge does to handguns but since I don't care much for Glocks I think a Glock 20 would be just about perfect (for me)....it's on the bucket list.

If SIG would chamber the P320 in 10mm, I'd be ALL over that, in a heartbeat.

But as it is, I'd have to say G20 Gen 4. I find the G29 too small for me to enjoy the caliber much. DE is nice, but sufffers a bit capacity-wise and potency-wise. So, yeah... G20 Gen 4.

I have 3, a G20, G29, and RIA 1911. Out of the 3 I have I like shooting the RIA 1911 best. I recently shot a S&W I think it was a 1066 or 1076 and it was rock solid and I'd love to try the Colt. For now with what I have I go with the RIA 10MM and Wilson Combat mags. I have been very pleasantly surprised by this 1911!

If only one, I'd stick with my Delta Elite. I had a G20 and G29 with no complaints on either, but when I want to shoot 10mm, I prefer to do it through the CDE. Below is an early shot of it. Since then, I installed a beavertail grip safety and had Novak cuts done for a set of TFXs.

DHart - RIA claims you can fire the hot stuff thru it! I fired everything from FMJ's range rounds to full blown Buffalo Bore and had no problems. I was surprised how well the RIA handled it! I shot some of the same Bbore thru the G20 and 29 and the 29 was somewhat of a handful.

I will stick with my S&W 1076 & 1006 because I enjoy the single stacks. Now if it were any 10mm then it would be my Ruger 4" GP100 10mm conversion gun, that is truly a pleasure to behold.

I guess it would depend on my needs. If I needed a good high capacity woods gun I'd probably choose a Glock G40 even though I'm not a fan of Glocks. It holds a lot of rounds, manages recoil well and has a 6" barrel.

Kimber 10mm Eclipse Custom II, because its grip-lever-controlled firing-pin safety was (and is) an absoulute requirement for me, and I THINK Kimber is the only 10mm 1911 manufacturer who makes one with that feature. I also recently bought a S&W SW1911-Pro in .45acp that is the only other manufacturer (I THINK) who makes a model with a grip-lever-controlled firing-pin safety (it's a pre-series-E model). I shoot .45 Super in it, which is not quite as good a round as 10mm, but it's not too far behind it ... much better than .45acp or .45acp+P.
