Night Stand Gun

nightstand gun

I have a small lock box activated by pushing buttons. Even though I have no kids...my wife is like a kid......lol

bump in the night

my taurus 24/7 pro c with laserlyte is nekid on the nightstand with two mags
my moss. 500 18inch with laser is against the bed post loaded with 2 rds 00 then six 1 1/2inch low recoil slugs. plus 5 rifles and four more pistols thru out the rest of the house all loaded with one in the chamber. and unloaded/unchambered gun is just a rock.

Like many others - free of holster - cocked/locked - top drawer of nightstand. Don't have children, so I feel comfortable with this. Have a friend with children that uses a little safe for his right under the edge of bed.

Kid?

What about small children in the house? It is not usually yours that you need to worry about. Certainly you have a more secure area to store it when you are not sleeping.

Shotguns? I may have to make a holster for this...just so I can say I have one...

Detective special... loaded with 1 snake shot, 2 frangibles, and 3 JHP+p's.
Stevens 311, unloaded but with 2 00buck, and 2 12ga slugs close at hand.
The revolver is unholstered, under a corner of the matress.

Just a word on traveling with a shotgun. The 311 breaks down, and and puts together real quick. I can do either in a couble of seconds... Just for those who would like a shotgun that travels easily.

My 3 nightstand guns are a Ruger gp100 6", A glock 17 with a 33 rd mag in it, and my Colt 1991 Gov't. In the winter i often carry my gp100 in a shoulder holster and i occationally carry my g17. But my 1911 gets carried
most of the time. That or its little brother the Combat commander ;)

My Night Stand gun is un-holstered and sits ready on a hand made set of brackets on the rear of my nightstand. The night stand sits away from the wall a few inches and I can reach and draw without having to get out of bed. The rest of the time it just sits there ready and out of sight and mind of others. :)

I keep 2 by the bed [ 380 bersa, 40 cal. sigma, loaded rifles in closets, but in cases]
none are cocked, but the pistols are holstered, quick release .

Alarm clock, keys, RIA compact tactical unholstered nothing in the chamber, hollow points in mag. under bed is a sawed off (legal 18 in barrel/29in overall) 1950's Sears pump with plenty of ooBuckshot a pump away

I keep my Browning Hi-Power 9mm in an opened WWII replica holster (holster holds a spare mag) within arms reach under my bed ( I can reach it while still laying in bed), along with a Mossberg 500 12 GA and large Mag-Lite.

The others are typically locked up.

My daily carry gun (Glock 36 w/ night sights) sits on top of the nightstand in a Bladetech IWB holster, also a Kimber Stainless Compact Commander condition 1 in a holster bolted to the side of the nightstand.
