New members - please introduce yourselves here

Hello all,

I have been reading all the great info on this site for awhile and finally decided to make a post. I have been getting into shooting more recently sense I started shooting with my girlfriend's dad up at his house and just having a ton of fun with it. Going tomorrow to sign up for a class to get a CC permit, hopefully it wont be a terriblly long wait. I have not ever purchased a gun but am looking to do that in the comming months when things die down. All of my guns have been passed down to me from both sides of my family.

My main shooter is my grandfather's on my mom's side 74 colt cobra

bought as his carry weapon when he retired and bought stake in a gold mine, which turned out to have no gold. Shoots like a dream, especially sense I bought some rubber hogue grips for it.

Hi all

Much like a few posts, I've lurked this forum for a while stealing great nuggets of info. Searched a lot of good stuff while figuring out how to get my FFL. Now that I have it and starting on a good path I figured I'd help others who are looking for information like I was.

I love to talk about ARs and generally everything about guns.

NEW LADY!

I don't know how many ladies we have on the forum but I am interested to see who is passionate about guns like I am! So many times I end up just chattin it up with the guys because there are no ladies that want to talk guns! So here I am in search of other ladies that want to know more about guns, carry positions, holsters, purse no purse, etc....etc...

New Guy Kev

Hello everyone, mods & members!
I'm Kev down here in SWFL, a SoCal transplant since my company relocated me 12 years ago.
Been shooting and making holes my whole life :D
First centerfire gun fired was my dad's WW2 Remington Rand 45. He had it reblued and added mother of pearl grips. Most beautiful 45 I ever saw.

From his collection, I have shot mid 60's Officer Model Match Target pistols in 38 and 22, I think the OMM is about the most beautiful revolver ever made, then the python of course!

Lots of S&W mixed in there as well, he gave me a late 1930's S&W 38/44 Heavy Duty on my 21st birthday..He's a great father..His shooting days are over since he had a stroke, just enough of one to keep him off the range..

I hope to contribute what I can, I do like the diverse areas on here, from Curio to wheelguns to auto's..Alot that peeks my interest.

Oh, introductions, well,

Hello *waves*

When I was 8 my Dad finally convinced my uber liberal mother to let him teach me to shoot. Started off with an AR 7 and before long I was killing cardboard reditions of 50's b grade horror movie monsters with a USP.

Been shooting ever since.

Hi all! New user from Atlanta, GA...just got back into shooting. I have a Glock 19 Gen 4 and a Ruger LCP. Looking forward to being part of the forums!

Hey, I'm an old Ky. boy (66) and I now live in Panama. Grew up shooting and enjoying hunting, plinking and skeet. I see that there are many folks on TFL with a lot of knowledge.

Hello all!! I'm new around here as well. I'm a 30 year old dispatcher from the Oklahoma panhandle. My fiance and recently got into target shooting. I was raised around guns, but never really took serious interest until recently. I plan on carrying my Ruger LC9 and my Smith & Wesson m&p 9c... when my card comes in that is. Lol

Hi my name is mike. I am 31 and have never been into “shooting” until now. I found out my family where all going to take the c.c.w test and sense it was something I have always thought I should do I quickly signed up. I have been to the range 4 times so far and quickly have fallen in love. Like everything I get into from music to Xbox I have dove right in and have been reading magazines and doing research on the internet and even have my first handgun purchase picked out. An fnx 9mm. anyways I just wanted to say hi and look forward to learn from everybody here.

I'm Seth from the lovely state if Illinois... Been into shooting for a while now, but just recently got back into it after many years spent 'watching from the sidelines'.

Howdy from Nashville, TN! I've been a long time reader of the forums. What a great source for information! I finally decided to create an account so I can participate in some discussions. Nice to finally "meet" everyone.

I'm new here but I've been a gun owner since 68'. Shot IPSC and IDPA in the 80's. I have heard many good things about TFL on other forums and it is all true. A relaxed attitude and a willingness to help others is what I've experienced here so far. Right now the plan is to learn more about the subtleties of reloading. Thanks in advance.

New to the site, BUT, not new to shooting. Military transplant New Yorker from Central Florida at the ripe old age of 19. Lived small town, Big City, and Now Rural, Beautiful, UPSTATE NY. Backround is eleven years prior service Active and Reserve. Law Enforcement from Military and continued on that path in current career of 17 years while still active reserve, until RE-1 in January 2001. Former SWAT/ESU from 1999 thru 2002. By the way...it's pronounced "NUW YUORK" and, I only have 3 more Christmas' to go until it is over...! SOOO looking forward to retirement!.. And moving away from this place of noise, crime, pollution and ANTI-SECOND AMMENDMENT POLITICS. Would like to move to northern Kentucky or the western side of the North Carolina Blue Ridge Mountain foothills. So, as we say in "NUW YUORKER".. Hired in My 20's Retired in My 40's. CAN'T TOUCH THIS!!! I don't live by the rule "Better to be JUDGED BY TWELVE THAN CARRIED BY SIX!" I find it better to "FIGHT FOR RIGHT", than be "STRONG AND WRONG"! Hello to all who would do the same!!!!!

Howdy, thought I'd introduce myself over here since I didn't notice this sticky beforehand.

I'm a 25 year-old sometimes-NCO-sometimes-contractor in the Texas Army National Guard. I'm married to a Canadian who I consider to be my smarter, wiser half.

I've been to Iraq as a soldier and Afghanistan as a contractor.

I own two guns (soon to be 3).

I'm soon to be a dad, and I look forward to having a shooting buddy who can't bail on me at the last minute.

I think that about covers it.

New Guy From Puyallup, WA

Hey everyone, I just joined the forum though I have been lurking around here on and off for some time. I just picked up a new rifle and thought it was time to join in the conversation.

I'm 25 years old, recently finished my bachelor's degree and am just focusing on finding a good job that can fund my addictions :D. Gun related hobbies for me are pretty much limited to poking holes in paper and hand loading, I never really got into hunting.

I'm looking forward to learning all I can and maybe with a bit more experience, offer my own insight to those looking to get into the wonderful world of firearms!

hey every one, joined today although reading this forum for quite sometime. I always admired the wealth of knowledge being shared by fellow members.
I am 38 & holds a post graduate degree in finance & working in a bank in my country in South Asia.
Guns are my passion which i Inherited from my father along with some guns & i keep on adding to it as situation permits.
looking forward to learn something from this great forum & all who are contributing their experiences.

New from Illinois

Hello everybody. Jen here from Illinois. I have been reading the forum for a few weeks and finally decided to join. I recently took a handgun class and fired my first handguns. To say it was enjoyable would be an understatement. I went from being incredibly scared to dispelling of the fear and finding myself becoming more comfortable (as well as understanding how to be safe). I was completely shocked at how well I shot. I look forward to reading more information here to help me if and when I decide to purchase a handgun.

Long time shooter (over 35 years so far)

JUST getting into shotshell reloading

Have a few rifles of different calibers...some of which are "keepers" like my M1903A4 & my Swede M43 (Husqvarna made M96)
One of my pet calibers is my little 6.8SPC - a Rem 700 LTR (the ONLY 6.8-cal LTR that the importers brought into the UK) - a lovely round in a bolt action

Used to be into pistol shooting - illegal here now (apart from Isle of Man and/or Northern Ireland)

Used to be an AR15A2 owner: that & my Ivor Johnson M1 carbine went in the self loading rifle ban!!

We do have a few good laws here though....and the odd bargain can still be found :)

For my sins I am self-employed, I have a small specialist leather goods business supplying shooters and military collectors

Will have to see if I recognise any others on the forum as I have the same user name on most of the boards I visit

Happy shooting!!

Intro

Hey all thanks for letting me join in.

I just got a smith & Wesson 586 from the 80's and used some of your resources learning lots.

I'm Bill on the East coast of Canada been shooting a short 4 years. I also have a small Youtube channel. Don't role your eyes. Look up Yukon12gauge on Youtube. Mostly guns these days but beer, ATV and wilderness vids. Anyway I hope to learn a lot on this page and be active. Assuming its cool I'll post an occasional link to fairly amateurish video I made for everyone's entertainment.

PM and say hi.

A picture of my latest project.
