New members - please introduce yourselves here

Im a midwesterner, combat vet, competitive shooter, reloader, and avid hunter. I am a professional blacksmith and bladesmith, as well as an amateur gun-maker. I have experienced an evolution in my love of weaponry which has transformed from a base exhilaration at commanding the power of a deadly weapon, to appreciating the aesthetic, and power of the single-shot and side by side rifle. I have used firearms for many purposes, ranging from poking holes in paper, to combat. I treat all of my weapons with the respect they demand, an expect others to do the same, both in words, and actions.

NEW MEMBER

I'm a new member. I've been hunting my entire life. I've purchased 4 guns in the last 2 months. (SA SOCOM 16,SA M1A Standard, SA .40 XDM, and Sig Sauer P220 Combat .45.) I would like to talk to anyone about the M1A (or other guns, accessories) and recently posted a thread in the Gear Forum. I will be checking this site often now that I'm a member and welcome any advice.

Thanks in advance.

I joined the Firing Line for a specific purpose (gain knowledge from all of you wisemen) but I can see I will get a lot more out of it than that.

From Kansas

Hello.
It is good to find this forum.
I found the link from the Kansas State Militia Home Page.
Following the Greensburg tornado in Kansas,
my father and I pulled a seventeen foot trailer to town to help my Uncle clean out his destoryed home. (a picture of my uncle in said home is in the People magazine issue following the Greensburg Tornado- a center-piece picture).
I was disgusted to see that ATF had ransacked all properties in the city prior to allowing citizens back into town, and had comandeered TWO SEMI TRACTOR TRAILER's full of Citizen's firearms. The ATF officer showed off a few special pieces which he claimed were obviously 'illegal'. I asked him 'how do you know the owner didnt have a permit, or purchase that gun decades ago, and is a rightful owner, law-abiding citizen, and taxpayer? His response was, 'it doesnt matter, no citizen needs firepower like this'. It was frustrating,
and to top it all off, my father and I had to park our trailer OUTSIDE of town, then carry items salvaged from the tornado by hand to one of two trucks, drive the items outside of town to our trailer, load them onto the trailer, then drive the trailer to my uncles storage shed in another town, and unload them again.

That day was an eye-opening experience, first-hand, with the true nature of that which the American citizen must struggle against in order to one day regain his constitutional rights.

A thank you to all American citizens that have served in the Armed Forces, or served to provide services and support to the Armed Forces in any capacity. Also, a note of appreciation to those who have had loved ones killed in action. My family and I thank you, and support you wherever we find you. My children are only 10 and 6, but both are aware that it is the men and women of the Armed Forces who allow us the now-limited constitutional freedoms we still possess, and work to continue to provide the ability for each American to achieve his or her will.

Hello from Fishers Indiana

Hello, my name is John and I'm glad to be a new member here. I have been a member of Indiaana Gun Owners for a while and have heard this forum talked about there so I thought I would check it out. Intersts include handguns, Mausers, Mosin Nagants, hunting, high power rifle( have a new .300 win mag coming) fishing, 10/22's you name it.

Hello, I'm Willbwind! I just purchased an M4 .22 as well as a Mossberg 500 12 gauge. I don't know much about guns, but I know that it's a useful skill and exciting hobby to have. Guns and ammo are probably the best investments during times like these, right next to canned food and gold. I have some money I've saved up and wish to use it to pursue this hobby/skill. I've joined the NRA as a lifetime member (pending when they mail me the membership materials) and I want to buy more guns. I'm completely open to suggestions so feel free. Thanks!

Hey all. Joined awhile ago but didn't catch this thread until now. My name is Carl and I'm from Idaho. I am originally from Boise but I spend most of the year in Moscow and McCall. I am 22 and I have loved shooting ever since I shot my first .22 when I was 10. As I am in college, I don't have much to spend, but when I do I'm always looking for a new weapon. I currently own a Ruger 10/22 carbine, a Mossberg 500A 12 ga., and a Mosin-Nagant M91/30. I am also looking for another rifle, maybe a Ruger Mini-14, and also a handgun, maybe a 1911 .45. Also I just got my hunting license over the summer and I am looking forward to blast some turkey, pheasant, ducks and geese this winter.

Hi All

Hi everyone...

I'm Ryan, I'm from Oklahoma, and have been shooting since I was a kid. Got my CCL last September, and have been carrying for just over a year now.

I was an avid member of another shooting forum for 4 years, but the moderators decided to start censoring things they didn't like for their own political reasons, so I called them socialists....and they permanently banned me. Oh well.

Name is Danny. I am a former Marine, '91-'95. I am a Life member of the NRA as is my wife and 2 children. I work as an Electrical Lineman. I am a native of FL. I have the same user name on several forums and auction sites. Comes from a Jeep I used to own. Easier to keep the name than to try to remember a bunch of different names and passwords. I currently enjoy S&W revolvers. Glad to be here.
