movies with a focus on the guns?

"The Wild Bunch" this western opens up with one heck of a gunfight. Its probably the most bloody western ever made. Its a MUST see! Its a western that's actually full of action.

There was some vampire or Dracula movie made within, oh, the last twenty years that showed someone handloading a cartridge because, you see, that's the only way to get one with a silver bullet.

Movie favorites which are not normally discussed.

The Hunting Party. Long range rifles against saddle carbines. Favorite quote, "a gun can't shoot that far"

Valdez is coming. Burt Lancaster uses a Sharps and a shooting stick to make a "near to a thousand yards" shot.

The Tracker another sharps long range shoot.

Jermiah Johnson. Got my intrest in BP shooting.

Most disliked movies are the Dirty Harry series. About the time I had the money to get my "Dirty Harry Gun" a new one would come out, the price of a Model 29 jumped another $200 bucks and I couldn't afford the purchase.

Another vote for public enemy w/ Depp. Quiggly Down Under too.

I also thought the Last Samauri showed an interesting progression of firearms.

Really any Tom Selleck Western with Quiggly Down Under being perhaps his most famous role. Even his new TV Show Blue Bloods has a lot of gun play. His renowned ongoing support for the NRA and Second Amendment cause make him one of the most influential public figures. Great actor/guy.

The Godfather

AMC ran a 40th Anniversary of the Godfather Trilogy this weekend and needless to say there is quite a bit of gun-play in this epic saga.

I saw Full Metal Jacket last night. What a great movie. I hadn't seen that one in 10 years.

I hear you--Every-time I am channel surfing and I stumble upon Kubric's FMJ film I can't help but watch it yet again (for the umteenth time). And even though 'Gunny' has a quick but crucially important role in the first quarter part of the movie, R. Lee Ermey's performance is Brilliant!

Terminator 2: Judgement Day

Amazing shootouts! It's not available instantly on Netflix though. I actually tried about every movie recommended on here and had no luck via Netflix. I keep hoping the selection gets better but I don't see that happening anytime soon with the problems that company has been having. They actually had Tremors 2, 3, and 4 but not the original. And you know you can't watch a saga like that without viewing the original first...:D

True Grit.

I'm referring to the newer version which I believe is superior, sorry old-timers. I've almost been kicked out of the family for arguing this with the pops-in-law. This movie is available instantly on Netflix. Maybe not a huge gun focus but it does feature many cowboy era guns if you're into that kind of thing, which I am. You can also probably tell by my screen name that I'm a big Jeff Bridges fan.

My favorite line from the movie is when that poor kid is dying and asking for help and Cogburn tells him:

"I can do nothing fer ya son"

Simple, but well stated.

The Walking Dead

Sorry, not trying to overload your thread with replies. This is actually a television series but I know for a fact it is available instantly on Netflix. Lot's of guns going bang and at crazed zombies which is double the fun. The main character uses a Colt Python and mentions it by name.

Terminator 2: Judgement Day

Amazing shootouts! It's not available instantly on Netflix though...

It's available on Amazon's Instant View for $1.99--They seem to be catching up to Netflix but still have a ways to go.

Tremors (Burt Gummer is my hero!!!), 48 hours is pretty good, Die Hard 1, 2 and 4, and Lethal Weapon, it will make you fall in love with the 92, it should have been billed right up there with Glover and Gibson (although it did share the cover photo in Lethal Weapon 2, Mel, Danny, and the 92FS). Lethal Weapon 3 was pretty good too (another cool range scene).

And 1 more ... Zombieland (just watch it and you'll know why :) ).
