movies with a focus on the guns?

The Quick and the Dead,,,

The one with Gene Hackman and Sharon Stone,,,
Not the Louis L'Amour adaptation.

In many of the gunfights they give you good views of the guns,,,
They purposefully chose several off the wall guns as props.

To me that was the best part of that movie.

Magnum Force (the sequel to Dirty Harry) has some pretty solid revolver play in it. They don't use the typical 18 shooters you see in most movies.

Most ALL Clint Eastwood movies are good gun movies.
One of my favorites is "Sudden Impact" where they show him using the .44 Automag. :)

Unforgiven w/clint eastwood. They're very specific about their firearms. "I see you've still got that old Spencer." "It blew up in his hand. A common failing with that model."

You really want to Shoot em Up so long as it is free. It is totally hilarious and filled with anti-propaganda about all the mystical powers of guns and the gun blobby.

Any John Milius film is great as he is a gun nut ! I'm about to order "Rough Riders" with Tom Berenger which was originally a TNT movie .This Spanish American War movie was at the change from black powder to smokeless and the older guns shown actually used BP !

Unforgiven had some inaccuracies, for example one of the cowboys in the posse remarks that, I'm paraphrasing, 'the general store won't sell us anymore .30-30 shells, unless we pay for them ourselves'. That sounds good unless you know that the .30-30 didn't make its appearance till early 1895 and the movie is set in 1881. :p

Also the chain fire failing wasn't only common in a Walker Colt, but could occur in all cap and ball revolvers, unless precautions(i.e. greasing the cylinder tops) were taken.

I really like The Expendables. Pretty lame movie with a grip of old action stars. But, boy oh boy there were some cool guns and gun fights in it.

Pretty excited for the sequel... I hear Chuck Norris is going to be in it.
