I'm probably one of the few people to reload for .25 ACP. Grand kids love to shoot them. I make them cast the .25 ACP bullets and reload their own ammo for them.
45_auto, since you reload for the .25 acp you can get an honest 850 fps from a 50gr. round..... often claimed on a box flap but seldom if ever occurring in a real gun.... you know manufacturers exaggerate their numbers....
I have a pair of Ortiges in .32 ACP with five mags that I carry when doing security work. Also have a 1905 Savage in .32 ACP. and I have a couple of .32 S&W revolvers. I handload so I know that my loads will do quite a bit more then bounce off someone's heavy jacket.
If the pocket .380s are considered mouse guns, then I qualify for this thread, because I on rare occasions borrow my wife's Sig P238 for pocket carry. If that doesn't qualify, my only mouse gun is an old .25 ACP Libia that is too unreliable for carry and kept only as a novelty pistol and heirloom.
I have a small group of mouse guns with the Beretta 950 .25 acp being the "mousiest." I bought it to carry when I felt it was necessary to go armed before concealed carry was legal.
I carry the Ruger LCP and Sig P238. The Beretta and Colt Mustang are semi-retired.
Love my tiny little Beretta Jetfire in 25acp. What a nicely built, reliable, accurate poodle shooter. That said, it's a range/plinking toy, not a carry piece in my rotation. But I'll never argue with anyone who chooses to carry one.
I have a Beretta 950 and just ordered 250 rounds of ammo from Aim Surplus. That gives me a total of 400 rounds and should hold me for a while. It is surprisingly accurate if you use a good rest.
I thought about getting one of the mini revolvers and ordered a catalog from NAA. They had full size pics of their guns so I laid the 950 over the photo and they were so close in size I didn't see any need to buy a mini revolver. Plus the 950 holds 9 rounds instead of 5 and only has to be cocked once. Or you can carry it cocked and locked like a little 1911.
I also just picked up an Iver Johnson TP-22 to replace the one I stupidly sold many years ago. It always worked and was pretty accurate too. I never had a single jam with it. And being a 22 makes for cheap practice.
