the dirty little secret.... sure you're a big tough guy and nothing less than starting with a 4 and ending with a 5 will do.... bla bla bla.....

that said, who carries a .25 acp and the like as an onion fields gun, last resort....? why did you pick that one? what would be your preferred if money was not an issue?

lets pretend we care and not turn this into a pocket 1911, 2" magnum wheel gun in you pocket thing. if you don't carry a mouse gun kindly be a spectator unless you can discuss without malarkey.

I don't have one yet, but I'm in the market for a Beretta Bobcat .32 ACP. I just can't find them anywhere for a decent price. I really wish .32 were more popular - I think it's more suitable than the .380 for the blowback micro-pistols currently flooding the market.

Currently carry one? No. Back in the days of undocumented carry, yes. Not advocating doing so (undocumented carry or carrying a 25 ACP), but sometimes there is no choice. It's up to the individual. I will never make fun of anyone needing/wanting to carry, whatever their choice may be.

Even these days, there isn't anything in 32 ACP that is as small as a Colt 1908. I have a good number of pistols chambered in 32 ACP and did my share of research. Nothing comes close. Not even a Seecamp, KT P32 or NAA Guardian in 32 ACP.

To this day, I haven't seen or heard of anyone try to prove that a 25ACP would bounce off their face by volunteering their own face. ;)

I do carry a Seecamp. A wonderful little gun.

I have in the past pocketed a Walther TPH in both .22lr and .25acp, (when the Seecamp was away for a short while).

I also have a PSA clone of the aforementioned Colt 1908. Never carried, nor even tested at the range. A virgin.

An American Arms PX22 once graced my safe. A gun for fun only, no serious use intended IMHO.

Little guns have a purpose too. ;)

There are times I carry a Beretta Model 3032 Tomcat in .32 ACP. The next step up is a revolver in .38 Special.

Ruger LCP here. I carry it a lot in the summer time and some during colder months. It's so thin and light in the pocket. No issues at all with mine. 100% reliable.

not sure if it qualifies according to your description of a mouse gun, but i always thought of it as a pocket pistol. i carried the pf9 for awhile. it was a piece of trash. even with an upgraded aluminum trigger, it was still trash. i managed to break a frame pin using just thumb pressure. it recoiled way too much and was way too hard to hold onto, even with the medium size mag and a finger grip sleeve. this is where a mouse gun fitting in your description could excel. i smaller caliber wouldn't necessitate such a firm grip and would reduce recoil significantly. add in some sturdier parts, and i'd say you have a real winner.

If the Elsie Pea is considered a "mouse gun" then the answer is everyday!
Either as my only carry in hot weather, or places where extreme concealment is most important. Or as a BUG when I carry something larger in cooler to cold weather.
I have been thinking of getting a 32acp mouse gun like the Kel Tec kinda just for grins, but I might even consider it as a carry option. I do have other 32's but in a larger, all steel pistol like a CZ50, and Manurhin/Walther PP.

Although I own a Colt and a Browning 25 the smallest handgun I carry these days is a Boberg XR9-S. Tiny while still packing 7+1 rounds of 9mm+P.

Just bought this one last week - it's a tad bigger than my LCP:

I don't have it yet, but I'm pretty sure I'm grabbing a Taurus TCP over the holidays. I had been considering a small .38 snub but once I held the TCP and LCP I knew I needed to grab one of them for a pocket carry option.

I own both .25acp and .22 (lr and short) mouse guns but don't carry them.

I do carry a .32acp and choose the NAA Guardian despite the fact that it weighs a tiny bit more than twice as much as my Kel-Tec P32.

"I don't know why...just do."

Usually as a back up to my primary carry gun (which can vary widely), but, sometimes, just the .32.

Just this last Saturday I had them out with a new shooter,,,
I ran 20 rounds of .25 ACP and 45 rounds of .22 LR,,,
Not one problem at all from either of the guns.

They have the Aarond H. Graham Stamp of Approval. :)

I'm a fan of the 25 ACP ( although, as a replacement for the 22 LR... I built a custom Ruger Blackhawk in 25 ACP ) my EDC is a TCP in 380... though I have carried a NAA mini revolver in 22 LR, before, in the heat of the summer, when even the TCP is too much...

for actual use against a human, I prefer a little more, but firmly subscribe to the school of thought, than a little gun on you when you need it is leaps & bounds better than a big gun at home, or in your car, when you need it in person...

I'm more a revolver guy, so I'd prefer a pocket small bore revolver, over the micro semi autos... but I do own a little Colt & Berdanelli in 25 Auto, & several Czech milsurps in 32 auto

I used to carry my wilson combat carry {officers frame 4" brl} 1911 but I used to do 24 hr service in what ever neighborhood I was called to, some where having a pair of AR carry pistols would leave you still feeling under armed...

I don't do that anymore so I carry a keltec p3at, that little pistol carries like a pocket knife, shoots every time I pull the trigger, I have the ct on it so aiming is minimal, follow up shots and fast groups are respectable at a fair distance, capacity isn't super high but my state doesn't allow high cap mags, so that a moot point...

But it all boils down to the fact that the gun and round are reliable, the round has sufficient power to keep my mind at ease, and I can efficiently and accurately put the bullets through the target every time...

I was watching the bill burr comedy on netflix the other night, I have seen him in person 3 times and I find him entertaining.. He has a bit about buying a 22 pistol, its entertaining...

Just bought this one last week - it's a tad bigger than my LCP:
Almost mentioned my Kahr as well. To me, I would say more of a "rat gun" too big for a mouse. I carry mine IWB, and consider true mouse guns to be easily fit in a pocket. My CM9 is hit, and miss in a pants pocket depending on the cut, and design.

I occasionally carry my Beretta .25 or .22 short. I love the tip up barrel and exposed hammer. I have never been comfortable with a cheep POS cocked near my "sensitive areas". Both guns have been 100% reliable. Fits in the pocket of my swim trunks/ shorts pocket without pulling them down....no, I don't swim with it.

I am not looking for a gun fight, but am absolutely certain that putting 6 rounds into someone would give me time to get away from most any situation. I dont know if they make either any more. Might look for a used one.

I carry my Keltec P32 all the time. Sometimes in a jacket pocket, but most often OWB at 3 o'clock. It's so small and light that even with the 10 round mag it disappears and I don't even notice I have it on.
