You're correct, of course.
After reading those other "suggestions," I read yours and it was, well, over-the-top. Just hit me wrong and I overreacted.
What I should have done was to have deleted every instance of such posts. Not just yours. And/Or/Then I should have closed the thread.
I apologize for singling out your post, alone.
Now, having said that, no more idiotic/asinine "suggestions" or this thread will get dumped.
Agreed
Now, to do my part in an attempt to save this thread and put it back on track, what I suggest is this:
Back in 1858 or 59 then Colonel Robert E. Lee evaluated that it would take I believe 10,000 men to control the crisis on the Rio Grande area with all the lawlessness on both sides of the border. Banditry, war and corruption was the situation. With this in mind, I believe President Buchanan wanted to declare Northern Mexico a protectorate of the United States.
I would submit to everyone that between drug smuggling, Zeta activity (former Mexican special forces operating with drug cartels now), gang activity, corruption in South Texas, and most of all Illegal Aliens, the Mexican government's stated vows to take over the SouthWest via said Illegals and occasional conflicts with Mexican army and border patrol (in some cases outgunned by machinegun fire); General Lee's evaluation is just as true today, if not moreso, than it was 150 years ago. And since he was just talking about South Texas it would take I would think 100,000 men at least to control this.
The whole point is this, no treaty, technological ability (cameras, sensors, etc), wall, fence, ( gator
), or any talking by politicans is going to keep these invaders (and they are invaders in my view as they are foreigners who are by and large loyal to Mexico not the US) out unless there are men on the ground armed and blanketing the border.
