if you ccw a snub nose revolver, how many speed loaders you carry?

Now days when I CCW a revolver it is on the belt and it is a full size Model 19 Combat Magnum. Usually I have two speed loaders on the belt all covered by a jacket. A backup Colt Detective Special snubby is in the pocket and it will work fine with the speedloaders on the belt. If the S&W 638 Bodyguard is in the pocket then a Speedstrip is in the other pocket.

Most of the time however a Kahr PM9 is my pocket medicine to backup a Glock or by itself. I carry a spare magazine for the Kahr in the opposite pocket.

cajun47... so no one carries two snub .38s?

Now days my revolver carrying is a rare event. Mostly when I plan to shoot a Revolver in the local IDPA club match I use the same revolver system as my daily carry.

I have on occasion in the past, carried two small frame revolvers, one in each pocket. When pocket carry is the plan I never carry anything in the pocket but the gun so two pocket revolvers eliminates my spare change and such. On those rare occasions I did not carry a reload.

I also have carried a S&W Model 10 snub or a Model 19 2.5 inch on the belt at different times with a DS or J in the pocket as backup. Usually I had speedloaders on the belt then as well.

"so no one carries two snub .38s? " [cajun47]

Yes, on occassion. But prefer 44 spl or 45 ACP snubs. A New York reload beats a strip, speed-loader or loose cartridges. Try reloading with a perp in your face. Good luck with that.

PS: You have a SLIM chance reloading with a full round 5 or 6 round moon-clip if your revolver cylinder is cut for moon-clips. Sometimes carry a moon-clip or 2.

It depends on which revolver I'm carrying and what time of year it is. My S&W M36 is always carried with one speed strip, my M66 is carried with one speed strip in warm weather and at least one speed strip and two speed loaders in cold weather, and my 629 is carried with at least two speed loaders.

I usually carry a speedloader in the pocket when I have my LCR .38. When I had my SP101 I would carry two speedloaders and a speed strip on the belt. When I had my J frames, I would sometimes carry one gun in the pocket and one gun on the belt, with no other reloads.

One, if I need more than that I'm totally in the wrong place and am unlikely to get a chance to reload more than that. It's a case of "Feets do your ting and get me to heck outta here."

None. When the 5th shot is fired, evidenced by the big flash, loud boom and heavy recoil of the .357 magnum round in the 5th chamber, I drop the snub nose and draw my BUG, a S&W 3913.

When I carry my 642, I usually carry a single Bianchi speed strip with 6 extra rounds. I have a couple of Safariland round speedloaders for it but they don't work with the standard grips, which I like otherwise.

Yeah, I have no illusions that I'd ever be reloading from that speed strip in a combat situation but it's so small that I figure why not. Doesn't hurt anything to have it along.

When I carried a revolver primary I carried 3 speed loaders. My 640 Pro is a BUG an uses moon clips, I carry 2.
