How much 22LR do you have.

On topic, certainly not enough. Wish I had the cash before the craze so that I could have stocked up. If/whenever things calm down again, I'll certainly never let myself get caught with my pants down by the shortage when something like this will undoubtedly happens again.

Just one box. It's all I need.:D

I don't have an exact count, but a couple thousand rounds, more or less.

I'm old enough to have experienced several ammo panics. When this one is done will be the time to stock up.

Did a recount and updated my ammo spreadsheet yesterday.
Have 5,760 rounds of .22LR at this time. Various brands. Have been finding bricks online. Higher than I'd like but it's a sign of the times. Those $9 bricks of pre-obama times will never return.

Well, now we all know why there is a shortage.
The common theme is that most of the people who have a lot of .22LR are not buying significant quantities during the shortage.

The people who have a lot on hand usually do so to avoid scrounging for ammo when it's hard to find and paying crazy prices during a panic. So in reality, the people with lots of .22LR are actually working to prevent shortages--those are the folks who stop buying when supply gets short and prices get high.

Probably around 10,000 rounds of 22lr. Then again, I haven't purchased a single 22lr round in the last 4 years, so don't blame me...

During the run-up to the <election> of 2008, I saw the 'writing on the wall' and greatly increased my stock of components for reloading, or I'd have had to stop shooting for a few years. But I failed to stock up on .22 rimfire. Had been out of ,22WMR and .17HMR completely, and my stock of .22LR got dangerously low. I actually got back into airgun shooting again. Fun, but limited on distance. Missed my rimfires.
So in the last year or so, I have been slowly restocking on rimfire ammo, when I find a price I can stomach. I won't be caught short again.

I found a particular lot of Winchester dynapoint that my Walther target rifle liked almost as well as federal gold match. I bought the entire lot at $7.96/500, still have 20,000 left. Haven't bought .22lr in a decade.

I had 13,000+ at the start of the latest Obamanation. I've had some health issues that have kept me away from the range for the last couple of years but I'm much better now. I've been giving the local Boy Scouts a few here and there so I probably have about 5.000 .22s left.

That be true for me. I checked the Remington GB's (as I put a date on them) and they were purchased in April 2012. That is the last 22LR I have picked up and that was only 2 225 round bulk packs. Not even an afternoon's shooting supply.

I bought 22LR ammo all the time at Walmart when they had it.... weekly and usually 500 rounds a visit and sometimes a couple visits in a week. It adds up. I don't average 500 rounds shot in a week. Probably more like 500 rounds a month for the last couple of years once the shortage hit.

I have 300 rounds. And I paid around 16 cents a round for those. Impossible to find in the stores; I was told to show up on the day they get the delivery (a weekday), around 9 or 10am. Since I work for a living, no, not happening.

So, I'll continue to pay around .16 a round for what I have to buy. Fortunately I don't use it that much. When I shoot, I might shoot 50, or twice that if my wife or stepdaughter are shooting too.

As for the price coming down.....you haven't seen the price of gas go back down to $1.19, have you? I hope to see .22 back on the shelves at cheap prices, but I'm not counting on it. At least it's cheaper than 9mm or most other ammo

In most parts of the country, it's pretty close to $2.00! I'd gladly pay for .22, what I was paying when gas was $4.99/gal.

I made the mistake of getting a Bump Fire stock for my M&P 15-22 for Christmas. Easily go through 200 rounds in less than 5 minutes. Takes only 5 seconds to go through a 25 round mag. Super fun. So I'm always on an ammo hunt.

22 hoarding

I have a bit of a beef in reguards to the 22lr. As i do believe any man has the right to buy whatever he wants, i feel that people with 10k or more rounds and never shoot them are why this problem has been created. If you shoot a crap load of 22 then hey, by all means thats your right. But if you are just hoarding it back and waiting in line at the local box store the morning the ammo truck rolls in and buying the whole crate, then that doesnt settle well with me and it shouldnt for any ethical hunter/shooter. Greed is not an admirable trait.

What if a young kid just got his first gun for
xmas or b-day and now he cant even get one brick because some greedy old buttmunch who has 20k rounds cleaned out every store within a 100 mile radius. Thats wrong my friends. Period. This problem
of outrageous prices on 22 will never go away as long as people keep being greedy (and ignorant) to pay such prices and in such large volumes. Many people that dont even shoot or like 22 bought it in truck loads after the shootings. And sometimes with the only intent being to sell it 10 times
what they paid. And those who pay that are equally to
blame. No one NEEDS 22 that much. You could use dozens more cartridges that do what it can and in most cases do i better.

I have not bought 22lr for 5 or 6 years now, some of my 22lr is nearly 30 years old. For Christmas this year I gave 8 of the 525 count boxes of Remingtons to friends and family with enough left over for at least another 6 Christmases maybe even a birthday or two.
