Guess Old Devil Bush was RIGHT......

"Amazing how this thread went from "look how well the Iraqi elections went" (as a liberal in most issues, I am a bit surprised) to "PsychoSword is a tard... what an idiot... etc." Give it a rest folks. If you don't like what PsychoSword writes, don't read it. That's another part of the first amendment."

 Now wait a sec...how can you say stop voicing opinions about a person in one breath, then say it's the very person's first ammendment right to say whe HE has to say. A bit hypocritical don't ya think? Sheeesh.

Actually, he has been and is wrong about virtually everything. By the way, permit me to restate what I said when he stood on the deck of the USS Lincoln and declared hostilities were over:

The war ain't over until the shooting stops.

Enough said.

Hopefully, this election will mark the turning point in Iraq and the counrty's stability will be on the increase. And,hopefully, this increased stability will be reflected in a rising stock market... :)

The whole Iraq mess was a fraud to begin with so why should we believe this election will be any different..
Can you verify that assertion please? It was my impression that the Baathist regime was a bloodthirsty genocidal political machine which gassed the Kurds, tortured Christians and Shi'ites, and other atrocites.

I seem to have read a lot of posts these last few months where a cadre of people (for dubious reasons?) continually engage in gratuitous Bush bashing. To what end?

At the very least, comparing Mr. Bush's administration stance on RKBA to that of Mr. Clinton we can see that such bashing is...stupid. As Forrest Gump said, "Stupid is as stupid does." Or maybe not stupid? Maybe something else?

Let me quote Metcalf quoting Mike Barnes:

"The worst fears about Attorney General Ashcroft have come true: His extreme ideology on guns has now become government policy." said Mike Barnes, president of the Brady Center to Prevent Gun Violence.

MeekAndMild, I'm afraid I don't buy into the phony left vs. right political spectrum and all the mind numbing propaganda that goes with it, so I really don't care what someone from the Brady Center has to say about former Attorney General Ashcroft.

I'm supposed to verify that their are no WMD's now? My how the tables have turned. I'm supposed to verify that the war was waged on a false premise? If you want to ignore that issue and curl up and pretend like the war was waged for the Iraqi people then why don't we "liberate" any one of a number of other corrupt regimes where genocide is going on? Well, we know the answer to that one.. Oil, weapons sales, occupational cost of Iraq, pretext for the central bankers; the folks who have printed our Monopoly money since 1913, to invade any sovereign nation.

There are WMD's there and in the general area of course and they will be rolled out when the time is right. The war was nothing about WMD's or any of those other phony reasons.

At the very least, comparing Mr. Bush's administration stance on RKBA to that of Mr. Clinton we can see that such bashing is...stupid.

Bush supports the AWB....Clinton support the AWB....

If you want to claim that Bush really does support the AWB and wants it both ways then you really are admitting that he's a clever liar. So then, what does that say about the rest of his policies? Bush and Clinton are both puppets. It's a show. It's all fake. Wake up out of the slumber.

Well, PsychoSword, the fact that it wasn't just Nazi 'ol FOX News that reported the same figures, but EVERY news organization out there, MIGHT, just MIGHT mean theres some truth to the rumors? Just Maybe?

Every news organization out there? So does this mean that ...

a) Every news organization out there get's their story from the same single source?

b) They really gather their own news from their own independent sources and just coinceedently and ak'ceedently happened to get exactly the same story?

c) Or the we-hate-Bush-oppose-the-war-liberal-media are all in a conspirwassy to report the same stuff?

BTW: is that the Nazi 'ol FOX news owned by Ted Turner's fellow Global Plantation News manager Rupert Murdoch? Or is this another FOX you are talking about?

psycho and LAK...

Lemme guess...when you boys aren't online, you're glued to the TV screen watching 'The Matrix' over and over and over again. Which one of you is 'Morpheus'? :)

Here's another beautiful photo:

Hmmm, lets see...ABC, NBC, CNN, Associated Press, FOX, should I go on?
All report a 60% turnout, and virtually the same story.....happy, thankful,
iraqi people, turning out in large numbers to cast their vote. Its a beautiful
thing reallly. its just a shame that there are people who continue to cast
doubt and shame on this historic event, just because they hate Bush, and
now all their ranting and finger pointing was for NAUGHT. I bet you boys
(psycosword, lax, and others) took your ball and went home when the other
team scored a point huh?

I don't know, I guess psychosword is above answering my silly old sarcastic
ramblings.....I'd be mad too if someone made ME look that silly.......

I'll quit "picking" on you guys now. Before you go tell the teacher and I get
detention............

took your ball and went home when the other
team scored a point huh?

What are you even talking about? What other team? Scored a point? This is supposed to justify the war because Iraqi's voted? Was there anybody who said Iraqi's wouldn't vote?

The debate about the war has nothing to do with the vote and it never will no matter how the neo-cons try and shift the debate.

why don't we "liberate" any one of a number of other corrupt regimes where genocide is going on?

The heck with genocide. Let's just stick with 'perennial' a$$wipes. I have a list. Where do you want to start? :D ;) Show me the C-5 ramp and hand me a basic load. I'm there. I'm too 'old', by the rules, but I'll waive that if Uncle Sugar will. :D

The only thing I have seen is Bushniks claiming that holding an election justifies or excuses all the mistakes and lies from the Bush admin. Not sure how that train of logic is supposed to make the next station.

But the Bushniks will always pull a re-write to suit the "facts".

Yeah, they voted. Last time I checked, they were still shooting at our guys.

"The debate about the war has nothing to do with the vote"

Uhhhhhh-I believe the idea put to the world was to build a democracy in Iraq. In every democracy I have heard of, to include democratic republics such as what we have here, the people vote their mind.

Uhhhhhh-I believe the idea put to the world was to build a democracy in Iraq.

That's funny, I thought we were a republic. Why are we building democracies? I got an even better idea, let's stay home and pay off the credit cards!

So what will happen if the winner says he wants coalition troops out?
If they are a sovereign country and not a puppet, leave - just like we would expect foreign troops to do in America.
I believe the idea put to the world was to build a democracy in Iraq.
I thought it was WMDs, genocide, and the violation of UN Resolutions? Democracy was thrown in later, quietly.
I'm glad about the turn out and I believe democracy is the least unideal solution, but I hardly believe that we invade just to free people.

By all accounts North Korea has WMD's and we've known about them for over a decade. The people have lived in extreme poverty under a military dictatorship for decades. They have sold weapons to an Al Queda splinter group in the Philipines, more than we can definitely trace to Saddam and Iraq. I guess they don't deserve freedom or anything. You know, as long as that is really our prime motivation.
