Guess Old Devil Bush was RIGHT......

When the vote comes back 99% for someone, maybe I'll believe PsychoSword

PsychoSword, I get my news about Iraq, from family members who are there. If they tell me the vast majority of Iraqis appreciate them and are glad they are there, I am going to believe them.

jefnvk, I have no doubt that's the case. Most Iraqi's are not going to spit in a guy's face who is carrying an M16A2 even (and especially) if they hate Americans when they can blend in and attack them at their most vulnerable. And I'm sure there are a great many who do actually like us being there. I do not have the attitude that Iraqi's want us out, I realize very well that their are strong feelings both ways and a large group of Iraqi's who just don't care, they just want peace.

It's ridiculous when people try to pretend either most of them love us or most of them hate us.

Baxter,
I see you haven't been around long. Perhaps you should do a search of Psycho's posts before you make up your mind on who's trying to squash who's speech.

Psycho...
Face it, man. You're wrong on this one. Today the world is a tuxedo and you're a pair of clown shoes. :)
Would it kill ya for one minute just to signify the slightest bit of hope and encouragement for the future of the Iraqi people?

Love the analogy!

I usually enjoy Psword's slightly off center posts too, but the '30 paid actors' crack was too much. I watched that live... A very moving scene.

This election was similar, the end result being entirely gratifying in the face of all that has taken place since the beginning of Sadam's regime... So,
Would it kill ya for one minute just to signify the slightest bit of hope and encouragement for the future of the Iraqi people?

Being consistantly cynical is one thing, overly paranoid is another. Psychotic, I say! Simply Psychotic!!! ;)

We all have hope for the future of Iraq. Remember they were a republican democracy before Saddam took over. I didn't think that many would turn out to vote, we'll see if the numbers hold up. Sounds like over 60%, I figured less than 40%. From what I heard on the radio, Sunni's did not turn out in numbers. That doesn't bide well for things, but none the less it's a good start if there's that many people who actually did vote.

In the broader spectrum, they are just spokes in the wheel. They're now indebted slaves to the conglomeration of private financial dynasties of the world known as the central bankers who have used us as their tool to enrich themselves even further with the Iraqi people's wealth.

"Uncontrollable election fraud..."

Hum...

If you don't like the message, simply counter with charges that can't be substantiated, but which look good on their face.

Someone has been taking the methods of the Democrats/Gun Grabbers to heart a little too closely.

Yeah, I do have to give the Admin credit on this one - it went much better than expected. I actually have a small glimmer of pride in my president for the first time since he was elected in '00. I am very happy that the majority of Iraqis seem to want democracy - this DOES jive with what Shrub had been saying, so he deserves kudos for this resounding success! Now, if we could just pull out of there in the same time frame as we did Germany - oh wait, we're still there; ok, pull out within 30 years anyway.

Oh, by the way...

"Remember they were a republican democracy before Saddam took over."

No, no they weren't.

The monarchy was overthrown in 1958 in a pretty bloody military coup. A "republic" was declared, but essentially it was simply a prelude to a whole series of military coups. The situation stabilized considerably in the 1970s, but there was never anything that even remotely resenmbled freely held elections for independent candidates in Iraq.

Remember, Syria is also a republic...

A Republic where a dictator inherited power from his father, and where he received 97.29% of the "free vote" when running against no candidate.

Why I'm right down the hall from you counting votes as you are.
That's funny, we were staying away from the voting places and letting the Iraqis handle security, coming only if called in an emergency. The Marines weren't even allowed to carry boxes of ballots from the polls to the cars taking ballots to Baghdad because we didn't want anyone accusing us of tampering with them. BTW, if there is so much voter fraud, why do the initial tallies show Allawi's alliance coming in second? Why, that means that your earlier comments in another thread that the fix was already in was wrong.

Wow, how did you photoshop a fake image that quickly, Mvpel?

We know that's not really her finger.

Nor is it her tear.

And that's really Bill Clinton, right?

Mike,

I was going to correct PS's perception about the pre-Saddam 'republic', but you beat me to it. I have been in the former monarch's 'palace'. Frequently.

And I'm amazed at all those fake pictures of Iraqi voters and such dancing in the street. More pro-Bush propaganda from CNN. Filthy conservative media liars. :D

Why do people on here get bent when Psychosword spills out his psychobabble. He obviously very one sided and will make up any excuse or give spin to make his point. All of his dribble is based in conspiracy. I'll never respond directly to his comments.

I wrote earlier:

You know, its an alarming trend, how some people piss and moan about things, cry about wanting FACTS, then you turn around and give them FACTS, which they promptly IGNORE since they don't jive with their BIASED opinions. Funny that.............I guess the same super-secret, uber-stealthly ninjas who tampered with Kerrys votes, made it to Iraq undetected and tampered with THAT vote also, to make Bush look good again huh?

Wow PsychoSword, it seems that you are able to ignore others posts that
you can't refute, just like you ignore the facts.....what'za matter? BURN a
BIT?

Amazing how this thread went from "look how well the Iraqi elections went" (as a liberal in most issues, I am a bit surprised) to "PsychoSword is a tard... what an idiot... etc." Give it a rest folks. If you don't like what PsychoSword writes, don't read it. That's another part of the first amendment.
