Favorite Caliber

44 Special/Magnum combo and 45 Colt in revolvers (don't own any semi auto handguns nor care to)

8x56R and 8x57JS in rifles

For shooting: 45.

For CCW: something that starts with a 4. I believe I've decided the .40 is the ideal compromise of caliber and compactness for me.

Favorite pistol cal

I would have to say 44 spl/mag and 38/357 would be a close 2nd.9mm would be my 3rd choice.I reload for all of them and have great fun with all of them when I can make time to go to the range.

I'm heading to the com bloc for my favorite center fire...

7.62x25mm

Has the bonus of being about $0.08 to 0.09 a round delivered to my door in a sealed spam can of 1200ish using the C&R discount. And it's got that cool muzzle blast at night...

For on shore, it's .22 LR just for the plink of it. What other caliber can you go out in the back yard (we have a safe shooting range for up to 100 yards) and plink at pop cans full of water for an hour 3-4 times a week with your kid and not blow your life savings?:)

Rifle is a toss up between the .30-'06 and .300 winmag. The .300 is nice as it lets the other hunters know you are around;)

Although having 22's, 32's, 38/357's, 357SIG's, a 9mm, a 10mm, and 45's, I can't really say I have a favorite! I shoot and enjoy them all!

4 runner I know you can get 260gr. bullets for the 45ACP, however I been looking around and can't really find them online anywhere. Do you recomend a website and how fast are they going. 260gr. at 850-900fps WHOA.

I shoot 9mm the most, because it is the least expensive centerfire ammo. I carry a 9mm the most, because it is effective and is available in very concealable pistols.

9mm is at the top of my list, just an excellent cartridge design and so much punch in a relatively small package. Add in price and it's the perfect cartridge. But that cool .22 Magnum is a close second. Just love all that punch in that extra long .22 cartridge. Sweeeeeet :D

That said, 22LR gets most of the attention though. It's what I like to shoot in leagues and like cougar said, I can shoot it on my own range and not annoy the neighbors. It's not my favorite cartridge, but it's my favorite to shoot.

.44 Magnum. I started out with it in a handgun, the Ruger New Model Super Blackhawk, my first handgun. I reloaded 180 gr and 250 gr bullets for it. Used only 2400 powder for either load.

The 180 clocked over 1600 fps and the 250s were able to plow through telephone poles (no longer in service and dumped) with cast lead.

I began shooting the .44 Magnum in the rifle shortly after becoming familiar with the pistol. The rifle was another experience using the .44 Remington Magnum; it was easily a two hundred yard extension of the handgun round with accuracy and power to impress. In an 1894 Marlin lever action.

From thence the .44 Remington Magnum has beat the others for me.
