Favorite Caliber

Anything starting with a .4 if it's a defensive purpose (be it woods or street). For target a .30 cal is preferable to me and I'm preferential to a .38 revolver. They just fit my hands better.

45ACP BABY!

That chubby round feels o so comforting pushing them into the magazine. For pistols, I defintley favor big and slow(er) not slow because a 230gr. FMJ is doing about 800-850fps which is still moving. I think for a semi auto pistol there is no better catridge.

I'd say .45LC overall, but don't use it for more than target shooting.

.45ACP is my preference in auto-loaders, though I love the 10mm. If I could get a 10mm 1911 of right size at a reasonable price, it'd definately be my top pick.

For revolvers, I'm a big fan of the .327, and its what I normally carry.

For general carry, .40 S&W. For SD, varmints, plinking, or whatever.

I actually got away from the cartridge for a while (7 or 8 years), but now I'm shooting it again, and it's still just as useful and fun as it's ever been.

.38 Special for me,,,

Not too big so it doesn't hurt to shoot,,,
Not too expensive so it doesn't hurt my wallet,,,
It's got enough "whang" to get almost any job done,,,
It has enough recoil so you know you're shooting a real gun,,,
It's just a good all around gentleman's cartridge for leisure and sport,,,

I have bigger and smaller,,,
I don't shoot the bigger much because of the cost,,,
I do shoot a lot of the smaller for the same monetary reason,,,
But if I were rich I would still shoot more of this than any other cartridge.

.22LR. It's in a price class of its own, it's available everywhere, and it can be shot with little fatigue or drama, allowing one to concentrate on the pleasurable aspects of shooting, including the fundamentals of technique.

The .22 is a lot of fun but it just doesn't have the blast of a centerfire cartridge. All things considered, I'll go with the 9mm.
