Kerry shifted focus away from his tweny years in the senate and onto his months in Vietnam.
The fact that Kerry thought his conduct in and around the Vietnam war would put him in a better light with the American people than his 20 years in congress should tell you something about his 20 years in congress.

Soley on the issue of whether anyone in such a position would keep a personal journal concerning a work matter.

Gotcha.

I don't think Fred is arguing that nobody in his position would keep a CYA file, but rather, that nobody in his right mind would keep THAT file. It's not a CYA file, it's a "hang me higher than a kite" file. If it's true, it documents that he caved in to pressure (from a retired general :D) to falsify documents. That's NOT how you CYA!

And who ever keeps a personal journal by writing memos? A little black book, yes, but you don't document the fact that you are breaking regulations by having a steno from the pool type memos!

Precisely. Of course that won't keep LAK and BH from making believe that they don't understand the difference.

Hey, Fred, didja notice? BH has been very quiet since I posted about the eyewitness.

:D

Oh, I know, that comment will bring him back. :(

I think this is very funny

I saw a DNC rep on Fox say something like "even if the documents are fake, why won't the presidient answer the questions contained in them"

You mean this damning evidence?

We have a elderly lady that says she does not remember Bush specifically, BUT remembers memo's about Bush and that other pilots did not like him.

We have a guy that says he helped Bush get in the TANG a year before he was in a position to help Bush do anything.

And a CYA folder filled with typed memos to himself, about a physical that need not be taken for another 4 months which was Bush's birthday. This "memo" was made because a General that retired a year before did not want spots on Bush's record.

That is why the private CYA folder was cleaned out in the 90's. The private folder was in military hands and had to be cleaned out for Bush's presidential run. If it was private and included such damning information about himself, why was it in military hands? I thought you were supposed to keep CYA files so they could not be destroyed?

The man who "found" these documents already hates Bush and has admittedly made up lies about him before.

I believe that about sums up the "proof" that Bush for some reason feels no need to refute.

I thought the LGF blog about the font and all being MS Word was bad enough, until I heard Gore's campaign say that they looked into this stuff in 2000 and found it had no weight and did not persue it.

Right; neither do I - and see my reply. Just another pion, who knows he is just another pion, engaging people who he knows can fry him might well do such a thing as a last resort. I doubt that the retired general in question just woke up one day and on his own decided he was going to protect George.

We do not know what other things this man documented about those who allegedly pressured him.

And who ever keeps a personal journal by writing memos? A little black book, yes, but you don't document the fact that you are breaking regulations by having a steno from the pool type memos!

Heck, if people like people like Lemnitzer can get away with official memos suggesting the terrorizing and murder of U.S. citizens for a political agenda, why shouldn't a CO keep memos about such a matter as this?

Breaking regulations - by omission under duress - is something one might well make known to others in one's confidence.

As far as the format, it is really superfluous. I have kept typed memos - and/or used "little black books" in a work environment and have been been aquainted with others who have done the same in various circumstances.

That's just rich. Other things? Allegedly pressured him?? Earth to LAK: the documents are FAKE. The whole thing is a put-on. Killian's 'other documents' are glowing reviews of Bush (something that wouldn't have come to light, BTW, if this scandal hadn't broke).

Maybe if you wish hard enough, these 'allegations' will get to stand on some actual evidence instead of this brain-numbing speculation and deceit. Maybe, just maybe, that would then make your man look like less of a fool in contrast. Then again, probably not.

And wishing don't make it so.

LAK...the word that you're struggling with is 'peon'.
It's Spanish for laborer, peasant or commoner. 'Pion' is a term used in nuclear physics.

I accept that you have kept copies of memos or 'little black books' but I'll bet that none of them had any information that was of a self damaging nature; unless you had a habit of keeping evidence in your personal files that others could use against you.

"peon" is a derrivative of Latin "pedon" meaning foot soldier. A lowly person of little consequence.

"pion"
Main Entry: pi·on
Pronunciation: 'pI-"än
Function: noun
Etymology: contraction of pi-meson
: any of four mesons that consist of combinations of two up or down quarks, that may be positive, negative, or neutral, that have a mass about 270 times that of the electron, and that are subject to the strong force.

WHAT??? Are WE on Candid Camera?? Where is Allen Funt????

(Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain-I am the great and maneficent Oz!)

This is so crazy! Is anyone on the left even slightly interested in unimportant items like WHO made this document, WHO sent this document, WHY isn't this being investigated for the felony it is, and HOW in the world can you so suddenly shift accusations from the President to his commander, who happens to be in his grave? Or is this just a bit more convienient???

What in the wide, wide world of sports do some of you do-invent some charge and then toss it out to see if ANYONE will stick to it??

GRD,

Fake or real - real or fake - had nothing to do with my point.

gburner,

I may be guilty of mispelling now and then; but I never struggle with language ;)

Whether memos or notes are "self damaging" can be a matter of opinion.

The trail of the 9/11 attacks is littered with people who were stonewalled, pressured and persecuted by those over them into NOT doing the right thing. I'll bet there are a large number of memos, journals and little black books along that trail - many of which could be seen as "self damaging" to those who wrote them.

The left has no alternative but to invent things. Nothing in reality squares with their fruitcake ideology. Why do you think they are so drawn to art? They need to create fictions. Without "documentaries", "documents", and other assorted crap, what would they have?
