Do you still own the first gun you purchased?

I can't remember what came first.
If it was the Browning .22, then no.
If it was the Marlin 882SS, then absolutely. And, like pgdion, I still love it.

I think (~85% sure) it was the Marlin, but I'd have to dig up the receipts to be certain. Yes, I still have the receipts. ;)

I don't like to sell or trade firearms. I only get rid of a firearm when there's a serious problem with it, which I can't fix and don't want to deal with, or I have absolutely no use for the firearm (like the SKS I traded off for a Marlin 336).

The first gun I bought was a Ruger Security Six 6 inch barrel in stainless. I got it in 1975 and I still have it. It is still a pretty nice revolver I just don't shoot it much. I bring it out in the winter when I don't want to pick up brass in the snow.

My first firearm I ever shot was my grandpas marlin 60 2 years ago then he gave it to me. Not even 6 months ago I baught my first firearm wich is a mosin nagant I'm now looking to make more money now to buy more guns.

I have every gun ever given to me or bought for myself. The first one I ever bought for myself was in 1989 and a Ruder Super Redhawk w/ a 9.5 inch barrel. I thought about selling it to buy something else, but I just can't part with it as it was the first one I bought myself. When my grandson gets old enough to hunt, I'll retire the rifle and use it when I'm sitting with him. It'll later be given to him, because right now he loves all things hunting and shooting.

Honestly, I've really only bought one firearm. The rest came via inheritance or were gifts from Pops.

And I still have the first gun I got(by inheritance), by gift from Dad, and the one and only gun I've actually bought thus far.

The first firearm I ever shot was my dad's Winchester 69A rifle (.22LR). He is in failing health and recently gave it to me. It is in better shape than I am, and a little older.

The first one I ever bought with my own money was an Armenius .22 revolver. It did not wear well. I eventually sold it.

first gun I ever owned was a Luger my uncle brought back from the war and gave to me. I was about seven years old. Gave it back. I still have the first gun I ever bought. It is a Remington rolling block .22lr rifle. I was about 12 years old and paid $3.00 for it. Still have it.

Yes, a 4" 686 I bought new in 1989. My best friend and I went to the gun store and we each bought the same gun. I didn't know much about guns at the time but I figured if he was buying one it must be a good one. He regrettably ended up selling his and whenever the subject of guns comes up, he usually asks if I want to sell mine to him. No chance.

First one I actually purchased..Yes I do. Dan Wesson model 15-2VH. Bought used in 1982 from a shipmate that needed some money. Best, most accurate revolver I've ever had.

Well yes, I do still have the first gun I ever purchased, a Ruger New Model Single Six.

I also still have the first gun I ever owned, a Marlin Model 70, clip fed .22 LR carbine, given to me by Dad.

I also still have my first shotgun, a Remington 870 "Wingmaster, given to me by Dad.

Regrettably, I no longer have the have the first hunting rifle, a Winchester Model 70 .243 "Westerner" given to me by Dad. I traded it, and I hate myself for that! (I have since found an exact match, but it is still not the same:()

Yes, But I can't remember which was purchased first,,,

I'm sure I bought them in the same summer (1964) between 8th and 9th grade (?),,,
I just can't remember which of the two I picked up before the other,,,
Both are still in my possession and I have ammo for both,,,
I shoot the Lebel once or twice each year,,,
The ROHM was never safe to shoot.

Well,It's still in the family anyway.
I traded a 1964 ford pickup with a blown motor for a 1946 Hi-Standard HD Military in 1973 at the age of 18. Kept it all these years, and shot many thousands of rounds thru it. . Taught my son to shoot, two grandsons and a couple of granddaughters with it.I had to replace 1 recoil spring in all these years. It came with the original Lawrence full flap holster. I gave it to my son for Christmas last year. (He said, "God I hope I don't have to wait 'til your dead to enjoy it!") It will continue it's life long after I'm gone(hopefully). I have a Ruger Mk111 that should out last me , but it doesn't have the history and feel of that ole' HD.

Yes. My Marlin 336C .35 Remington, bought in July,1977, is still my trusty companion,at home and in my truck after 36 long years. It'll probably be buried with me! :D

The first pistol I purchased was a nickel copy of a S&W Chiefs Special. It had a tiger engraved on it, and all it said was "Mac De Armes De Brazil" on it (to the best of my recollection). I have subsequently determined that it was made by I.N.I. out of Brazil. Sadly, I no longer have it.:(

I have handled many Chiefs Specials since then, and the build of this particular gun was actually quite good - better than any I have been able to find since. I put many problem-free rounds through it. One day, I will purchase a S&W copy of my little nickle INI 38 as a replacement.:D

Air guns I wish I still had:

I also had 3 air guns when I was a kid that I wish I still had today:
1. Colt Springer pistol - copy of an SAA .45 (from the mid '70's) (melted it down with a blow-torch when I was a very stupid teenager)
2. Crossman 761 XL - brass plated receiver - pump action (shot the heck out of this, finally blew the seals and destroyed it thinking it couldn't be repaired.
3. S&W Model 78G CO2 pistol (I loved that one, someone stole it)

Yes.

Ruger 10/22

Hardly ever use it. Almost gave it to a friend once. Couldn't do it.

Now I have 2 kids. It'll see a lot more use soon.

Do I still have my first "purchased" gun? Technically, NO; however, tht is because it has been given to my oldest son, a 357 Magnum 4" Colt Trooper MK III. Bought this on my 21st birthday. The second gun I purchased, Colt Combat Commander 45 acp, was obtained about six months after my initial purchase, the Cmdr has been given to my youngest son.

Each of these guns were purchased over 30 years ago. As you can guess, I don't sell guns I get. :) :) :)

I have the first one given to me and the first one I purchased myself.
Given to me was a model 67A winchester 22, christmas present when I was 14 years old. Purchased by me was a Remington 870 wingmaster shotgun, that was in 1974.

-*Yes.

That I bought...a 50 cal. Thompson/Hawkins rifle I bought at about 14. It shoots PRB as good today as it did 40+yrs ago.

First shotgun was a Christmas gift at about 7yrs old. An H&R 410 single shot. It got passed to brother when I was about 9 or so when I got an Ithaca mod.66 single shot for Christmas which I still have today.

First handgun was at about 13yrs old. A S&W mod.57 in 41mag. that my father shot competition with. I had been shooting it since I was about 10yrs old. We would sit for hours and I'd help him load. Dad gave it to me and I still have it today. It brings back a lot of good memories.
