Do You Name Your Guns?

I had an old Pellet gun when me and my friends would go hiking around in all kinds of weather with when we were kids, still have it (I'm only going to be 23) and I call her Trusty Rusty. As for all my other guns, they never really got names

Are you KIDDIN' me? LMAO!!!!!!!!!!
I can't believe I even read through all these. HA!! Very Amusing :p
No.... I have no names for any of my guns. Not even the ones I have that have been around since before I was born. I just don't get it. But to each his own.

You guys don't name "other things" too, do you??? Nevermind!!! I don't EVEN want to know. LMAO :D

Nope.

I generally don't name inanimate objects like my guns or my cars. As far as I'm concerned, there's absolutely no point in it.

sure why not

I have an xd that I used to call xd until i got a scion xd so now it's "the .45"
i have a smith that i refer to as "Mr. Smith" My 870 is simply known as "ugly" or sometimes "feo" depending on if me or my wife is carrying him.

I call 'er Vera
+1 to an fellow Firefly fan.

I have actually tried to name my guns.
I think my Kimber Aluminum Stainless 45 needs a name.
Nothing fit so I gave up.
To me, a name has to evolve because of an event or a certain characteristic.
Nothing yet. :D

Oh yeah and +1 to the 870 named "Doomsday". ;)

Because i have only one, I call it "my" M&P, it is very important to me and i dont have a problem with naming it. I just dont have a name for it yet.:D

Oh yeah.

PK22: "Vilma"

Sig P226: "Switzerland".

TAURUS 650 STAINLESS: "Pyro Donkey".

Sistema Colt 1911: "La morocha" ("the burnette")

M&P Hand Ejector: "Grandpa".

GMC .22lr: "El tanito" ("little italian", because the initials come from its manufacturer, that was Garb, Monetti y Cia.)

A fish or a turtle understand their names as much as a gun does, so I don´t see where the problem of naming -or nicknaming- your guns would be. Is just for fun.

mine are pretty lame
"THE Dan" = Dan Wesson 15 4"
"The Bull" = Taurus 66 3"
"Slick Willy" = S&W 64 (SS bobbed hammer DAO LE turn-in)
"Southern Comfort"= S&W 638 (for appendix carry)
"Old Cop" = '51 Colt Officer's Model Special (ex St. L PD)
"Old Man" = early 1900's S&W .32 Hand Ejector
"Old Kraut" = '41 Oberndorf K98
bunch of others that aren't named though

Naming

Well I dont name it but I do talk to it, I usually say something like "You are one ugly #$$%^%^&*!!!"

In my younger days, my hunting bow was named "Vlad the Impaler" - even stenciled it on the bow....

My .460 is "Boomer" for obvious reasons:D

rwking,

Always..ALWAYS post a warning a couple posts before you post a photo of a Hi-Point so that those of us with sensitive stomachs can get out in time.

this thread is a little funny and also lame....but i'm not going to criticise those of you that do.i don't see a problem with it.

no,i don't name my guns nor has anybody here inspired me to and i carry one every time i go out.

they're just tools to me....awesome tools though.

if i did name them,it would probably just be numbers...like,#1,#2,#3 and so on.

Stop it!!!!!

Yall better stop talking about my Dewalt like that, I will have to mark and drill ya......:D

Oh by the way it worsk good as a hammer, so its dual purpose!!!!!!

I have only named one gun. This gun is a 12 ga. Mossberg 590 dubbed "Frankenstein." This name is appropriate given the mish-mash of parts I have installed (with 590-A1 "conversion" in mind), several scratches resulting from "tinkering," and the fact that it is now big, heavy, ugly and dangerous.

Now, when any of my weapons malfunction in any way, I come up with all sorts of names for them (none of which can be said here). ;)

Mine are named Sheila and Victoria. I've always wondered how common gun-naming is. I suppose the general idea based on this thread is that some people do, and some people don't, and think it's stupid.

Hornett: I think my Kimber Aluminum Stainless 45 needs a name.
Nothing fit so I gave up.
The name Kimberly comes to mind immediately, due to obvious similarities with Kimber...
