Nope for me, 1 Cougar, 15 rounds. I'm good with that. My pockets are already full of other stuff.

I feel if I were to have a magazine failure then I'm probably just SOL. Here's my reasoning, you get a jam or a FTF. 1st step is clear the jam and chamber a new round. If it jams again, you now have to eject the magazine, clear the round, insert a new magazine, and chamber a new round. That's a lot of time and it assumes it's the magazine that is bad and that the one being dragged around in your pocket is better. I think I'd take my chances on clearing the 2nd FTF and just try loading a 3rd round. In a true SD situation you'd be lucky to accomplish that. For me I'd re-seat the slide and use the DA mode to strike the same round again.

I guess if you've had problems with magazines or ammo and you've had to fiddle with the lips to get things to feed right, then I'd be more inclined to carry a spare, but then again, I'd be even more inclined to carry a different gun.

I carry a spare mag for my S&W Bodyguard 380. If I'm going somewhere especially dangerous, I might put a few extras in my wife's purse.

When I'm using the shoulder holster, I carry two extra mags on the off-side. It balances the rig out and makes it fit/hang better. With an IWB or OWB holster, I don't carry any extras.

It's a rare trip when I carry a spare mag, even with my 7+1 sub compact. I do keep an extra mag in my truck.
If I have to go to Philly, I'll carry my spare. If I know it's a bad area I have to go in, I'll take a back up. {gun} lol

Up here, in winter, I carry a spare 8 round magazine in my coat. I have a 7 round magzzine in my carry handgun. When coats are gone for the season, my spare magazine is mostly in my car. Unless I have to go to Detroit, then I carry a backup magzaine with me.

I dont want this to turn into a discussion on the merits of either, that has been hashed out before.

Well, what do you want, YES or NO and then we shut up?:p

Of course we're going to discuss the merits and hash out that that's been hashed out before.

Yes, of course I carry a spare mag. Two if I'm carrying a single stack.

When traveling, my Go Bag has room for a spare gun and the compartments were designed to be filled up with something. Why not ammo?

Haven't you heard, 'ol geezers like me are either getting smarter in our old age or paranoid. I don't care which, I just feel better with more ammo than I expect to need.

I carry a spare magazine in my pocket, less because of any perceived need for more capacity than because changing mags stands a good chance of resolving a failure. Murphy's Law and all that.

i dont carry one, but ive been thinking about getting one of those flashlight/mag holders you clip on your belt and starting to carry it that way. Right now i just carry the pistol.......sometimes when im carrying a revolver ill put a speedloader in my pocket.
