Chinese vs Turkish guns!

Plastic trigger guards.....

.....on Remington 870? No kidding? See what America is coming to? Well I guess it shouldn't bother the folks that go with synthetic stocks. All the more reason to go with a vintage piece; new ones are so disappointing. It seems the more modern the world gets, the less I like it. Unless there is an American Rennaisance in the near future then it appears to me that we are past our zenith. DON'T TELL MOM: Old Glory, She's mighty faded now.....kinda thead-bare.....doddering old girl; She doesn't know how far She has fallen; thank God for dementia as She dreams of better days. Little does She know how many long yesterdays ago it was when She was so young and strong and brave and free......Let's clean Her up for the holiday; dress Her in fresh new clothes. Go down to the dollar store and pick up some flags; I'll get the fireworks. Make sure all the grandkids come; this could be Her last Fourth. After the Grand Finale She'll say Her good-night. She's gettin' to old to stay up with the younger crowd. I'll tuck Her in and kiss Her good-night. She comments that it all must have cost so much.... I won't mention to Her that the new clothes and the fireworks and even the American flags were all made in China. Why make Her cry? She won't be with us much longer; Dad's already gone. Let Her pass quietly, thinking the best.....Their Generation made such sacrifices, all for us. Have we really been faithful with the legacy They left? Don't tell Mom.

I've got mixed feelings about the whole import versus US made guns thing. My glock (before I traded it) ran for thousands of rounds without fail. My Smith Model 10 hasn't had nearly as many rounds thru it (prolly close to 1k total), but it still locks up tight and has a great, smooth trigger pull that most modern Smith offerings just really can't touch, IMO. And thats a 25 year old gun. I recently bought a Pardner Pump, but out of the box it needed to have work done (replaced firing pin spring and shell latch). Now it should run fine. My NAA Black Widow is still currently in the shop for a crappily-positioned rear sight. My Marlin 925 .22LR has been fine thus far.

I guess its not so much where you get it, just the qualilty (AND customer service) of the manufacturer/importer.

The Remmington current production "Express" shows a lack of pride and is subject to jamming.

When this company has to try and produce a product to compete with the Chicom stuff at a particular price point, cutting quality corners is what they will do - it's not a lack of pride, it is competing with the Norincos and other cheap POS from China that seems to be attractive to buyers here. Too many base their gun decision strictly on initial purchase price and not over the loing run. As long as Americans do that, and American companies have to compete with Chicom slave labor, they will do whatever is necessary. That means, in the long run, that you lose, the US industry base loses, and the Chicoms get that many more dollars to uy more US bonds.

The choice is yours; whatever makes it right on your mind is your business - don't complain when you no longer have a quality choice because you have consistently chosen Chicom cheap crap based on the initial purchase price

Remington, H&R, NEF, Marlin, Bushmaster the same company. The Cerberus group isn't competing with China because they sell Chinese made shotguns too. The well made H&R NEF Pardner Pump is made by Hawk Ind in China. They could have dropped the Pardner Pump shotguns from their lineup when they purchased H&R but they didn't because they are big money makers. The fact is they expanded the line by introducing two new Pardner Pump shotguns in 2009. The return rate on them for repairs is very low.

While I am against the purchase of guns from China because of their stance on gun laws and human rights, some chinese firearms, while not that well finished, have some very nice touches.

I was looking at a Chinese mini mauser .223 the other week that had a fully chromed barrel and chamber and very useable iron sights. It was a copy of a Czech gun that is no longer available.

Fit was not too bad, what irritated in terms of finish were machine marks and very rough checkering.

I just bought a Chinese made shotgun NEF Protector Pumpaction .12ga. Didnt know it was Chinese until after I got it home. It is quite Hefty and all metal no aluminum. So far so good. Kicks like a freaking Mule to weigh as much as it does.

No that was an American supplier - sorry. And by the way, you are ignorant of the fact that the gun you are crying about is made by these fine American companies - "Remmington - Marlin - H&R" Are these "offshore companys (sic)?" Right they are not. You probably drive a Made in Mexico Dodge pick-up truck from an offshore company Dodge aka Fiat/Obama/UAW.

Hey, thanks, it's CTS Corp. they have 6 plants in the states and 11 plants overseas. For the record there is a Ford ranger setting next to a Escape with a Focus behind it. I worked for Ford Motor Co. and retired from there. Only buy Ford or Ford owned cars. The only car company that doesn't change chairman of the board at the whim of obama or owe on loans from the govt.

Also the safes have Ruger's, Remington's, Marlins, Ithaca's, and a coupla of Brownings.

Just like the Dodge full size trucks. They are imported as well. And I agree, right now the only "American" car company is Ford.

Man! Did this thread ever get traction! I came by just to see what was up and dang, it's still going strong! This one grew big pink ears and is banging a drum!

Oh well, My Pardner Pump is still intact as are my domestics and they are side by side in my gun locker without so much as a whimper.:D

I own a 2009 Dodge Ram it's made in Michigan - says right on the inside of the door and the Dealer said they are either made in Missouri or Mich. mabey some other of thier models are made in Mexico but not the full size trucks to my knowledge. Also in my opinion Japan makes an exell. shotgun.

There are very few products that are 100% made in the USA anymore. Most products are made with imported parts and materials. Every time you buy something you are supporting other countries economies. The world is becoming one big fish bowl.

I should have been more clear, the smaller dodge ram truck is made in USA but the big 2500 and 3500 are made in mexico - "The Ram 2500 and 3500 are built in Chrysler's Saltillo Assembly Plant in Coahuila, Mexico, and the Ram 1500 is built in the St. Louis Assembly plant in St. Louis, Missouri, and at the Warren Truck Assembly Plant in Warren, Michigan." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dodge_Ram
Sorry but they are made by fiat/obama/UAW - three worthless entities.
And I'll say it again, show me one Pardner owner that is not happy with their shotgun. Every forum I vist has threads entitled "My 870 is jamming" - Most blame it on the bulk Winchester ammuntition but other guns digest it.
Sorry
