Anything Good About The Gwb Administration????

"During World War II, what was the primary puropose of encouraging Americans to invest in War Bonds?"

So they wouldn't have as much money available to bid up the price of gas, sugar, steel, rubber, etc?

John...whose elderly parents would love to see the return of CDs paying 15%. Hey, so would I now that I'm only collecting interest and not paying on any loans.

War bonds were not sold to prevent people from buying stuff (gasoline) and driving prices up. They were sold to finance the dam war so the US would not be finacianlly shored up by our enemys as we are now. Who do you think finaces this huge gwb deficite---CHINA AND JAPAN.:eek:
The only industry thriving under gwb is the Oil and Oil related business friends of gwb and his cronies.

Gotta go look this stuff ole GWB cheer leader (Silver Bullet) is talking about.
Hey, bud, I was just pointing out where you went wrong. I don't think that makes me a cheerleader, just because I dared to have a different opinion and was able to back it up with facts.

suppose 3% of that 52 percent become disatisfied with Bush and vote the other way next time?

after all its not about Bush vs.Kerry

but Bush vs. Bush
That's wrong on two levels.

One, BUSH ISN'T RUNNING AGAIN! You all are living in the past, you had your chance to defeat him, and failed, get over it. Really. It's his second term, what's up with all these threads bashing the man, when he's ineligible to run again? Trolling plain and simple.

Two, there's a lot more to government then the presidentcy. There's the federal legislature, where the democrats earned their minority status, and been falling further and further behind. And there are the states, where democrats have lost just about everywhere except in the most densely packed urban areas. Look at the high water mark of democratically controlled govenorships and legislatures under Clinton, and look at them now. Quite a difference you must agree. The republican resurgence on the state level was a tremendous boon for the RKBA, under them the number of shall-issue states more than tripled.

From the top to the bottom, the American people have rejected the liberal/left agenda. All they can do is vomit forth unending streams of irrational Bush-hate, they have no agenda, no plan, nothing but incoherent rage.

lol.. so much rhetoric... just because you disagree with somebodies point of view, it is not necessary to denegrate them or is it? Honestly looking at the media, I just havent seen all this supposed left wing rage and hidden agenda you talk about. Where is it? Other than on bathroom walls...:barf:

Lol, you haven't been looking very hard.

Just listen to Howard Dean, Ted Kennedy, Al Frankin, or Nancy Pelosi for a little while, what they say is worse then you'll find on any bathroom wall.

hmm still dont see it...is open debate and differing opinions and exchanging of ideas to be feared and or ridiculed?

Perhaps its the right wing oppression of freedom of speech that should really be feared...

just dont see this conspiracy your talking about...

hmm still dont see it...
LOL... you only looked for 8 minutes? Clearly you're not in the least interested in seeing the truth, only trolling the gun nuts.

Go back to DU little troll.

DU? care to elaborate?

I looked long enough... unlike you Ill actually read and look at things I dont necessarily agree with..

rather than just parrot party propaganda!!!

How can a Hamster overcome a Bengal Tiger?

Q:How can a Hamster overcome a Bengal Tiger?

A: It can't.

The same way a bunch of ranting, disconnected citizens can't overcome the true forces that run a country. like the blossoming of a Corpse Flower (look it up) so the world sees probably the best example of what "Democracy" has become in the government of the USA in 2005. A range of powerful, interlocking components have created what I like to call "a democratically elected dictatorship" The components are, government, corporations and media. The citizenry is powerless against the decisions and desires of this machine. The machine can give itself anything, more money, more power, more priviliges. It can operate above the law. Individual rights can be supressed or erased. It was recently brought to my attention that little changed between the Clinton and Bush administration. Both had ample evidence of nepotism, cronyism and above all, complete disinterest in the day-to-day welfare of the constituents who elected them. Any debate about the good or bad of either of the major parties is redundant. All governments serve the same God, WEALTH. Not ordinary wealth though, super wealth, the kind that can buy anything. I'm not depressed by this, I can't do anything about it. My aim is to do the best I can for my family and myself, hang the government or the super rich.

Perhaps its the right wing oppression of freedom of speech that should really be feared...
Can you give some examples, please ? I'm only familiar with left wing oppression of freedom of speech, for example:

1) Shouting down right wing speakers at colleges;
2) Censoring speech with labels such as "hate speech";
3) Protesters at the Democrat Party Convention in Boston being confined to a small "free speech pen" far away from the convention;
4) Preventing religious groups from passing out nonpartisan voting guides;
5) Democrats trying to force Limbaugh off the air when his show first came out;

Well, you get the idea. I did a search on Google and it came up with more than two million hits on instances of Democrats censoring free speech.

One thing good? How about conservative Supreme Court nominees? That's the only reason why I would endorse Bush. I want a Supreme Court that will limit Congression encroachment upon our rights and the abuses of power by the Executive Office.

Man, where you been???:confused: Your individual rights have been not only stepped on but stomped on by the GWB administration under the Patrior act in the quise of 'home land security. " :D Ole Ashcroft held um off as long as he could and by so doing was "forced" to resign.:mad:

If y'all are trying to think of an example of the dems attacking rights, how about the attempt to (1) control the presses at election time and (2) concoct a story about Bush and the NG intended to make the sheeple think that Bush is a draft dodging hippie and that algore is who we need for Commander in Chief.

I don't see the First Amendment as regarding things like shouting in a theater or viewing pornography. These things are aspects of society, not government. The political principles regard things like our reps having free speech in Congress, and the people having a free flow of information so they can make educated decisions when they elect a rep. I really think the dems tried to attack the First Amendment by controlling the media at election time (didn't they admit their intent was to silence the NRA?) and concocting a story about Bush ... it was simply an attempt to throw the election by controlling the media.

The fact that gwb evaded the draft by having his father and his fathers wealthy friends get him a billet in the Texas National Guard and that he came to Alabama to run a campaign for Whinton Blunt, which failed. During the time that he was in Alabama his pay records show that he did not get paid for several months because he did not meet his requirements of attendance. when I was in the service if you was not where you were supposed to be, when you was supposed to be there you were AWOL so he was AWOL in alabama.:D

I find it odd how venomous politics has become. One half thinks that Bush is the anti christ while the other half thinks he can walk on water and do no wrong. Me, I voted for Bush in 2000 and 2004. In 2000 he was the lesser of two evils, and in 2004 I was scared to death that ex Hippy Kerry would win. In retrospect, as a war planner I think Bush gets a C-. Regardless who was president after 9/11 and the Anthrax attack the entire world though Saddam had at least chemical and Bio agents, not to go to war would be suicide. Everyone was wrong, fine I could live with that. My beef is Bush was all backwards, why did we not dump 150,000 troops into Afghanistan, and in Iraq give support to the opposition (the Shiites and the Kurds) with air support and special forces?? Thing would be different now. Afghanistan would of had a heavy US force, AlQeada in Afghanistan would have been gone (their home base) and Bin Laden would have most likely been captured/killed, if not no one could not say that he got away without us really trying. Iraq... well let the Kurds and Shiites do the dirty work, it is their country. The Sunnis are the minority, Saddam either flees or is killed by his own people. Election are held and everyone is on the same page, Done Deal. That and Bush open border policy with Mexico dumb too. Close the borders, stop sucking up to the latino voters. Other than that he is doing fine. Presidents are people too, they have their good and bad, people have got to stop acting their party can do no wrong...that is how communism and the nazis got started.

Your individual rights have been not only stepped on but stomped on by the GWB administration under the Patrior act
The question was which party is more responsible for the oppression freedom of speech.

BigJack, you started this thread with the question "anything good about the GWB administration". I listed the progress this administration has made for RKBA. First you didn't seem to understand the significance of that progress, and then you called me a cheerleader ... for answering your question.

This makes me wonder if you're even a gun owner. Gun owners understand the significance of what GWB has accomplished. It seems to mean nothing to you.

REbar I don;t know where you got your info but gwb never served one single day of active duty. He was a draft dodger but macho when it comes to sending someone else to do the job.:eek:
