Yep...have carried a J-frame Smith for...hell as long as I can remember. It's my favorite CCW but far. Both my wife and I used to tote a Model 36 in .38 special, still have it and carry it for old time's sake, but for the last cpl years I've upgraded to a 3" Model 60 in .357 Magnum. She's gone over to an Airweight Smith 637 in the OWB rig shown below.
Neither of the all-steel guns is especially comfortable to tote in the pocket, and draw from that position is difficult so we normally carry in an OWB, Tom Threepersons open top of my own making. With most any kind of long shirt, either gun is well concealed. Same is true of her current 637, tho that one sometimes rides in her purse.
I do occasionally carry a Sig P290 or Smith's 380Bodyguard, but find like many, that the simplicity and ease of presentation of a revolver makes for a better defensive arm in civilian hands. For us, the add'l rounds offered by autos and the add'l complexity of safeties, slide stops, and malfunction clearing procedures don't make a lot of tactical sense in our environment, both at home and on the road. Other folks have different needs and concerns, and I understand that, but the 5 rounds in a J-frame makes sense for us.
Here's a pic of my wife's Airweight 637 in one of our holsters...the Model 60's carried in the same type but without the add'l keeper strap...Rod
