ANOTHER school shooting?!

Who cares if the Amish had to rely on modern means to call for help? I'm wondering what kind of "man" takes on a community of pacifists.
 
I'd just read that they guy had been in the school room for 45 minutes before the police even got the call...This is getting aweful. What horrible new trend.
 
I have two theories on this phenomenon, and both are equally depressing...

My first theory is that this is a copycat case. Some stupid guy turned on the TV and saw that it was "back in fashion" to go on shooting rampages in schools again. Luckilly for him, he's always wanted to murder lots of people! So, he siezes the opportinity. This is depressing to me. What kind of guy looks at that poor girl who died last week and thinks that to repeat that sort of thing would be a good idea?

My second theory is that this sort of thing actually happens all the time, and it only gets PUBLICIZED during the election seasons, or at the whims of the hidden agendas of the media groups. This is equally depressing, because if it were proven so, then it would prove both that the media actually has specific hidden agendas, and that the tragic deaths of these poor children are being used to further someone's career.

Either way, the whole thing stinks!
 
I think the election season has nothing to do with it. The media will happily report tragedies like this any time. You may also like to note that there are hardly any people running on anti gun agendas aroudn the nation. There are lefties to be certain but the gun issue is not their main thing anymore.

I thought it was no secret at all that the media, in general, favor tightening controls on guns, right on up to out-and-out bans.

This has never been hidden.

Some criminologists have studied the number of negative-v.-positive stories on guns that appear in the nation's newspapers and found some insanely high percentage of the coverage casts guns and gun use in a negative light.

It's still what they want -- make no mistake.

It just took them a few election cycles :eek: to figure out that since it's not popular with the people of the United States, they should STFU about it, leave it unstated, and then work toward civilian disarmament if and when they get into office.

The left may be really stupid, but even they figured out that avowing support for gun bans kept them from winning elections. So now they believe in it just the same, but won't be wearing buttons that shout their support for it -- until after they win elections.

Sort of shows the intellectual and moral bankruptcy of a party, that even when they wholeheartedly believe in and want something, they will conceal it because they don't want people realizing that this is what you will get if you elect democrats. What kind of a party actively conceals its true desires because of knowing that to tell the people their true desires, they won't get elected by those people?

Remember back a few years, when there was a spate of school shootings, office shootings, etc. There was loose talk about how it could be stuff conspiratorially put together by the anti-gun crowd, breaking a few eggs to force the country to make their anti-gun omelet?

I don't believe in coincidences. I don't trust the DNC either.
All I'm going to say is that if radical muslims can get their operatives to blow themselves up in a school, it's not a stretch, in my mind, to think that the DNC might be getting their's to walk into a school with a gun!!! The same psylogical dynamic may be at work here. Yes, I believe Democrats are that evil!!

I'm also not saying that this is necessarily the case here either.

Watch for the old "Do it for the childreeeeeeen" ploy!!

Watch for it soon after the election, especally if the sons and daughters of Satan make significant electorial gains!!

Watch for it to become an election issue for the Demonrats!!

Watch for the sheeple to be completely fooled!!

There's nothing wrong with me.
I'm taking my assumptions to their logical conclusion.
Look at how England's disarmament of the people happened.
It started with a spate of school shootings.
Same with Canada!!
al-Qada has proven that the psychological tools exist to condition operatives to commit suicide for the cause. This is a matter of fact, not open for discussion.
The existance of the SS proves that people can be conditioned to commit murder on a grand scale!! Just ask a holocaust survivor.
Is the DNC as evil as al-Qada or the Nazis??
I believe so!!
 
Apparently the suicidal losers have figured out that schools are a safe place for them to make their grand exit.
I expect more of this.

I have yet to meet a flaming liberal, and I know many being in New York (some are even relatives) who would strap a bomb onto themselves and march into a school.

Come on people, let's be realistic here. Yes, the liberals for the most part favour civilian disarmament. They have an idealogical difference. At the saem time Ted Kennedy, as evil as I believe he is, has not come out and said Republicans should all be marched into the gas chamber. Keep yourselves, no matter how tentatively, teatherred to reality or you have no hope of swaying that large mass of people in the middle who find fanatics from either side disconcerting.

I didn't really mean to invite EVERYONE to start jumping off the DEEP END. Can we please return to reality??? I'm upset about the election season, too. Let's stay on track, please...

zippy, my best suggestions would be:

1. Arming/training of those teachers and principals that volunteer for it (similar to airline's pilots). I'm sure atleast one or two teachers would volunteer for that in the average size school.

2. More police presence on campus.

3. Educate the children. They run fire drills and disaster drills, why not extend that to shooting drills (taking cover, where to go, etc.).

4. Make physical violence something that is basis for severe punishment. I know many schools do this already, some are more forgiving. Kids that get in fist fights are more likely to escalate that to bringing a weapon to school. Also, kids that are expelled for violent behavior should automatically have a restraining order filed that prevents them from coming within XXXX feet of a school. That way they can be prosecuted should they feel the need to come back to cause trouble (not meaning a school shooting, but just being where they have no business).

Many of these things cost little to nothing in the scope of the big picture (government spending).

Some more expensive options:

1. Reinforced doors: Make them strong enough to keep people out of classrooms. Make it so when the school locks down, it is indeed "locked" enough. This would obviously be expensive to implement on a nation wide basis.

2. If I ran a private school, I'd hire basic security (armed rent-a-cops).
