The hottest +P .38 special is equal to some of the more mild .357 magnums.

From the hysteria of replies on this thread, it is apparent that many people don't realize this!:D

I don't shoot any .357 out of my .357 snubbie. No need. I handload the FBI load and am presently getting 940fps out of my 2.5" snubbie with my 158-160gr cast hollowpoints with my .38 Special +P loads. Awesome expansion and controllability make me a happy camper.
Well said, USSR, I use Mihec's copy of the old Lyman favorite (358156 GC) with his HP pins installed to make up outstanding expanding loads for my guns. I've found (as I think you've previously pointed out) that a 50-50 alloy mix of pure lead and wheel weights is the key to getting expansion at reasonable velocities. Best Regards, Rod
