357 snub

This is probably my first choice for a defensive carry .357 that one would want to shoot a lot. Stainless for finish durability. 3" barrel for velocity and good ejection, fixed-sights for snag-free, L-frame for long-term shooting durability.
The S&W Custom shop created this for me back in the day when they did this sort of thing. I sent in a tired 4" square-butt 681 and got back a finely-tuned, round-butt, 681 with a 3" PC non-ported barrel. This one is a life-time keeper.

At first glance, it looks a bit like a Model 13, but the ejector shroud/barrel lug looks 19 ish. On second glance, it looks like a 19 and someone removed the rear sight and ground the square edge rear sight notch into a curve?
What does the top strap look like? Did it have the adjustable rear sight on it at one time?

Totaly agree "simple 8-shot S&W 327", Why ? Because it's 8 shot! I like them alsoNo Korth or Dan Wesson for me. I'll go with a simple 8-shot S&W 327. Why?

Manurhrin MR-73. Why ? It's accuracy,eight shot capacity,excellent balance and pointing ability,interchangeable cylinder for 9 mm or .357 Sig.,ease of reloading due to a special cylinder coating giving a glass like finish,and their strength. They have 12 hrs of hand fitting,leave the factory with .8" group at 25 yards and are proof tested with test ammo of twice the pressure of that used in the US for 357 mag.. Over 40 tons per square in.
I have been a long time Smith fan, and the 2 1/2" 19 is a beautiful weapon. However, I recently purchased a Kimber K6s. This is a slick gun. Easy to conceal, the sights are more than adequate for their intended purpose, and recoil was not bad at all with 125 grain SJHP magnums. Very pleased with this new snubby!

This is a factory special run that was made for the French police when Raymond Sassia was in charge of weapons procurement. Only 500 were ordered by a French distributor called Raymond Gerand in 1973 and very few made it into private hand. The serial number range was in the M&P range from D639300 to D639800. There is also a fixed sight version of the 2 1/2 and four inch M19 made for the Peruvian police that was cancelled before all guns were delivered that then were sold through the German distributor Wischo.
I also had a 4" Peruvian model but it was by far noot as nice as the 19-3 RS and had the barrel overtorqued and poor accuracy.

thanks. I have to admit that I am taking my hobby a little bit too seriously most of the time and not only shoot all my guns but try to research them also. In this case I had been helped by Google, where I could pull up the factory letter from Mr. Jinks that a collector from Luxembourg had obtained (and payed for) from Mr. Jinks.
If it weren't for that 19-3 RS, I would be pretty happy with my long time companion, a M19-2 with a 2 1/"2 barrel.

Ruger Speed Six 2.75" barrel. That's a "wish".
I currently holster a Ruger 2.75" Security Six or a Ruger .357 LCR.
I guess I should be happy and not covet...but a Speed Six...ohhhh.
