I have only one pocket gun and I absolutely luv it and completely trust it.
That gun is my Kel Tec P-32 which has over 750 flawless rounds thru it and is accurate. I practice from 1 to 30 feet with it and I must say I do well. Kel Tec nailed it when they made this gun. Light, small, and .32 acp which has low recoil allowing 3 fast shots to your target/perpetrator. I will never search for another pocket gun, the P-32 is my baby, I carry it a lot. Try one, you won't be sorry.

pocket carry

AMT Backup in .380 ACP in a Desantis pocket holster is perfect for jeans.

100% reliable with hardball or hollow point ammo.

I have two that I've pocked carried for years...

Taurus PT 22, for when I need something REALLY small.

Smith & Wesson 042, the hammerless Centennial, for when I can go a bit bigger.

Late last year I also added an S&W Model 38 humpback, which well may join the two above.

I don't have many pocket (or pocketable) guns:
-Taurus 85CH
-S&W 442
-SIG P290rs
-Kel Tec Pf-9
-Ruger LCP

Out of those, I like the P290rs best, but at best it is "pocketable". I can see someone dropping it in a pocket on their way to the store, but I can't really see someone carrying all day in their pocket and especially not if they are using it as a backup with another gun on the belt (it is just over 20oz).

If I had to pick one of the guns I have for daily and all day pocket carry (especially if I had to add the weight of another gun on my belt), I'd probably go with the LCP or 442. But the LCP has terrible sights, the 442 is very uncomfortable to shoot. So, they'd be a stopgap while I'd save up for a small, lightweight .380 with decent sights or a Kahr PM9. I kind of want a Colt Mustang or SIG P238 (though I'll probably go for price and get a S&W .380 Bodyguard or Remington RM380).

In the past I also had a .32ACP NAA Guardian. It was a great size, but I don't trust the caliber (heck, I'm not a fan of .380 for defensive use, I definitely don't want to trust my life to a .32).

I do like the .32s. That said, I have a KelTec .32 as well, which most often goes into a vest pocket. There is also a Iver Johnson .32 S&W Safety Hammerless; a tiny Colt auto in 22 Short; a double barrel derringer in .38 Special; a Colt Government Model .380 Pocketlite; and a Mak. Most often it's the KelTec that winds up going with me, as I can , in a pinch, also use its ammo in the .327 Federal on my belt.

Ruger LCP Custom running Speer Gold Dot ammo. Fits well in the front pocket or IWB kydex holster. Very light and dependable.

I like my P32, but irrationally don't trust 32acp for SD. I irrationally prefer its big brother in 380acp, the P3AT. If I can I carry something larger, but if not, I can carry the P3AT in very light clothing.

Small - P3AT
Medium - snub 38
Large - Bulldog (snub 44 in coat pocket)

I love my LCP due to how small it was... but .380 is expensive. I switched to a SIG P938 SAS. More of a cargo pocket gun, but 9mm is a lot more capable and cost effective.

My other option is a 642-1, which I converted to 9mm. Rather 9mm on moon clips over .38s on speedloaders.

SIG P238 hand-down my favorite "pocket" pistol. Very well made.

It is actually the only "pocket" pistol I have shot (compared to various snubbies, S&W Bodyguard, & LCP x1, x2) that is fun and accurate.

My Glock 42 fits in the pockets of all my pants and shorts, and that's with the plus-1 magazine extension. I keep it in a Sticky brand pocket holster. Works great and the gun is easy to shoot well.

Here lately, a Remington RM380 has gotten my attention. Neat little DAO stainless and aluminum gun. About 300 rounds through it without a burp.

Seecamp LWS32
Beretta Pico
Walther TPH

All very thin, thin is important in a pocket, lightweight and reliable.
