Would you own this gun?

There's no accounting for taste, but I'd probably prefer green, like on a Walther P99. I don't know, though--maybe I need to hire an interior decorator. ;)

Potential. Get one and then dress in your best horn-rimmed glasses geek/nerd attire and head for the local redneck range. Stammer, stutter, shake, wince, cringe and shoot all over the place with a real gun and when the heckling gets too bad let them challenge you to a bet. Then whip that thing out! Shoot and collect money, leave. ;)

"HEY" I resemble that remark!
well...not in pink at least...but I do own the full size DDA 10-45 and it is a great shooter! mine is the boring black and chrome version :( not as fun as pink...but shoots extremely accurate...they do have other flavors although I have only seen the pink one available so far...the blue compact would be a great choice if you could get it for the $289.00 i've seen the pink one go for...and yes...BUL of Israel makes the DDA AND the Kimber polymer frames...and as I think Railroader posted...SOG has the full size black and chrome version for $275.00...I bought mine from them when they first came out for $299.00 which is still a bargain,
Tony.

Nothing like having pink combat tupperware. Who knows it might match someones Apple computer! I dont think I would buy it, I dont think a BG would carry it.....I guess the best way to say this is thats its like riding a moped, its all fun and games until your friends see you riding it.
On the othe hand ....if you aim it at a BG he would proably die laughing

I can't believe Charles Daly came out with that color. I know, it must be a tactical ploy to make the bad guy laugh his head off so you don't have to blow his head off.

If you go over to the Charles Daly site...you will see the pink pistol and another one whose frame is bright, "state traffic department" yellow. It looks like a flare gun!!!

I think that yellow one is pretty cool. I also like the olive one. Maybe if they are so inexpensive I'll have to save for both.

On a serious note. I think cutesy guns are dangerous in a menacing scenario. The danger is that the BG won't believe it's a real gun and may grab for it. A gun should look like it means business. This is especially important for women since a lot of BG's don't take a threat from them seriously to begin with. Pulling out a cute gun just reinforces her supposed vulnerability.

Gives "Carry Concealed" a whole new meaning!

If I were packing that poor abused pistol, well concealed would be a Given! What a cruel thing to do to a perfectly good little handgun!
However, when viewed from the muzzel end if I had to pull it on someone intent on harm, I suspect the size of the bore at close range would be the only feature of note.

Afterwards...I LIKE the idea of a DA trying to work up a case of any kind of violence with Felonious intent against yours truly - With a Pink Pistol Named "Fluffy" as Exhibit 'A'! :D

All kidding aside, I think that it could be setting a dangerous precedent to start making guns look like toys. I certainly wouldn't want one.

The witness comes in pink also, as well as a camo green and some others, but I think this looks pretty sharp:

Pigshooter: I don't know whether to load it or put chocolate syrup on it and serve it with a vanilla wafer! :D

Stop and give that some serious thought, folks. I think the man is right.

Also consider another angle: You are in a bad situation. For whatever strange reason you have a BG or two hunting you. You find a dark place to hide. Do you want your flashy weapon giving away your location?

Even though it's an unlikely scenario for most of us, do you want to give up ANY potential advantage?

BTDT. Taught me a good lesson. I'm glad it was a chrome plated cap gun derringer, and the other guy was armed with a Mattel Fanner 50. But the lesson is valid with real ammo involved. That's why tactical is black or camo.

Aion,

it just seems to me that if you go to the trouble to make a polymer frame, why not squeeze out all the possibilities? I am thinking a zebra-striped frame would be ultra cool, and especially with colors other than black and white.

The point above about tactical colors is valid, but then again, the "pink fluffy" point is too.

My wife helps me determine many of my experimental load combos. Brass or nickel shells. Brass or nickel primers. gold, silver, copper or lead bullets. She even has an opinion about the color of the lube used on cast bullets. And when I showed her the colored "dots" in the alliant dot powders, she had strong feelings about this as well.

And you know what? Call it coincidence, but the combos she likes tend to do better than the ones she doesn't, for load velocity deviation.
