Sell me your Bauer real cheap, then! A .22 won't penetrate a steel drum, either. Nor will a .32, and possibly not a lead .38 special.

9 Rounds in a 6" circle in under 5 seconds

A while I was offered a czech 6.35 Strakonice for $40.00and bought it. I shoot a LOT, both long guns & handguns and spent 30 years in the military 6-USMC & 24 US Army. I regularly practice with all my firearms including that little 6.35 which I carry all the tine. As the title says 9 rounds(1 in the chamber & 8 in the mag) in a 6" circle (check out your head size) @5 yards. If this doesn't stop him(generic) at least it would give me time to reload. Does that make me feel safe????? I don't think much about safety, BUT I know that I'm prepared. THANX--SNEAKY

thats a good point. i dont carry the tiny .25 raven because my colt .380 is almost as small, and packs twice the punch. i have a NAA black widow .22 revolver that i never carry anymore, after having the hammer cock itself in my pocket. if i'm gonna put on a holster, then my .380 or kahr mk9 is a much better option. i could carry the colt mustang in my pocket, but why should i when a holster is so much better, both for the gun, and for quick deployment.

i just got a bersa .380 cc model. that is a good choice for economy, reliability and firepower, at least for my needs. the mustang has gone up so much in price i dont like to carry it that much--they are going for around $700-$900 these days.

i dont really see why one would choose a .25 or .22 unless they already own one, and cant afford a small .380.

Point is is that it's better than nothing and will work fine against average thugs if your demeanor is correct.
There's the key. It will work fine for most assailants and in most situations. First rule you know--"have a gun." Any gun can work, any gun can fail. The caliber is one of the least important factors in the outcome of the situation.

Local lawyer got jobbed with one a few years back. Classic Mosambique Drill. At last report he was still dead.

My friends son was shot in a bar with one. He made it almost home, one block away, when he died. Another friend in service was gut shot with one. He beat the pis* out of the guy before going to the hospital. He told me the exploratory surgery was worst than the shooting.

I don't like the round, have an old Colt .25 acp but I never carry it.

I agree

Especially when a Kel-Tec P3AT is under $250.00. And even if you do not like the Kel-Tec there are lots of other inexpensive options - especially in the used category.

quarter bore pistols

Some of those baby pistols are plenty accurate for their intended purpose. The fmj rounds feed ok. But I'd feel better with a .22 loaded with Stingers. Sis in law was killed with Stinger. Bullet tore 2" exit hole in skull. Small things can leave big impression.

If you are gonna have a 25? than why not a 32? an average 32 has twice hte power in the same sized firearm. I always carry a Tomcat on me whenever possible. 130 is a whole lot better than 66!!!

.25 acp - Great cartridge selection!.

As long as you have an loaded .45acp 1911 in the other pocket for back-up. What! No Holster?

A local man tried to commit suicide with a .25. He shot himself in the temple three times. Then he changed his mind and called for an ambulance to take him to the hospital to get the bullets removed. I'd call that pretty good shot placement, and very close range.

I'd rather have a good tactical knife. At belly close range (which everyone seems to agree is the range of a .25) a good blade will do a heck of a lot more damage.

HA. My dad just the other day "gave" me his .25 Phoenix Raven. Said "You can have it, I'm not gonna carry it again." failed to feed and/or jammed on him several times at the range last time he brought it. I keep it for a plinker and an occasional hideaway gun in my boot or pocket. I consider my Detective Special my real backup gun (sometimes even carry it as a primary) and the .25 Raven a hideaway gun.

Dad now has an airweight Colt Agent.

Had a situation in 1997 when a B/G had me by the throat and was choking the life out of me, all I had was my .25cal., brought it up center mass and popped three rounds ( two made it to the hart ) end of story :(

So the .25 gave him a heart attack:D

I AM A PROUD DESCENDANT OF A CONFEDERATE SOLDIER

Me too. Deo Vindice!:)

I would feel just as safe carrying either a 25ACP or 22LR handgun. My feelings about the 25ACP is it is so dang noisy for so little power. Yes, I know, centerfire vs rimfire reliablitiy.
