Worst Kick Ever Felt!!!!

Single barrel 12 Ga H&R Topper shotgun with slugs or magnum buck shot. Makes my M70 375 H&H tame in comparison.

I hate recoil and people who like recoil can have it.

Heaviest kick so far for me is my .45-70 with Buffalo Bore magnum loads... They are 430 grain bullets, and not sure how much the powder charge is but they are moving at 1925 ft/s. I can only squeeze the trigger about 3x before wetting myself.

For me it would be a tie between a .416 w and a 3 1/2 slug out of a crack barrel 12 gauge. Both guns kicked significantly more than a 375 h&h and .50 bmg. For those whove ever shot a .50 know theres a huge kick but the gun and giant suppressor take away most of the kick. Also was able to try a CheyTac .408 which had a nice punch but very managable. The most painful thing I've shot was probably a .500 s&w with 440 gr hcs. For some reason a coworker of mine is concerned enough with Alaska brown bear attacks here in Colorado that he feels it necessary to carry this combo when he goes out in the woods.

Shot a single shot 50BMG, it has a muzzle break on it but it did not work well. The gun was very light for a 50 (guess about 19LBS) I shot it from the prone position and I felt like my shoulder was broke. The Doctor said that it was not broke but it was black and blue for about a month.

Like Terhuna my worst experience ever was with a Weatherby .300 magnum.

The first and only scope bite I have ever received. Handed it back to my brother and said "glad it don't belong to me"!!!!!!!!!!

1) 3 1/2 -inch magnum 12 ga turkey load through a Remington 870
2) Unbraked Remington 700 in .300 Win Mag
3) Unbraked AR15 in .50 Beowulf. One or two rounds isn't too bad, but after about 10 it gets ridiculous.

Two barrels of 2 3/4" 00 buck out of a coach gun. I've never fired any of these magnum safari calibers and don't plan on it unless I someday get into ultra long range target shooting.

Ithaca M37 12ga Deerslayer with

1-1/8 oz., Brenneke slugs for deer hunting.

Now use the Forster 1oz slug.

Did try 1-1/4 oz Mag load for turkey with MOD choke.

Biggest kick I ever felt was from the biggest bored rifle I have ever fired.... Rossi R92 16" in .45 colt. It kicks like a fuzzy little kitten with normal pressure rounds, but with serious +P ammo it kicks pretty darn good. What clinches it though is that it weighs only 4.8lbs and has a steel buttplate. You get no weight to help cut recoil and no padding to protect your shoulder. Makes for some nice bruises the next day.... But nowhere near what most of you are describing here. I really need to load up some magnum rounds in my 12ga and see if it can top the Rossi. I am sure it can.

460 weatherby followed closely by a #3 ruger in 4570 using loads that approached 458 levels. that curved butplat will get on you. third would no doubt be my 50ak with mind numbing loads.

I own a Belgium built Browning BAR in .338 Win Mag. That's the largest bore rifle in my gun safe that I own. While it is tolerable thanks to a decent recoil pad and the gas operating system it's nothing I'd want to shoot all day at the range. It only produces about 32 ft-lb of recoil energy. Knowing what the .338 feels like I think is enough to keep me from getting into the larger bore rifles, or heavier magnums. While I like having it available for large, or dangerous North American game it's not my favorite piece to shoot although it is a great shooting gun. It's accurate and reliable. I definitely wouldn't want to be on the receiving end.

I'm not into pain so the worst kick comes from my Vanguard 30-06 and 870 Shurshot with 1 oz slug or 3" turkey load. That's enough for me. :D

It never happened to me but to a buddy of mine he said the gun that kicked the most was his dad;s 30.06 bolt action he described it to me in enough detail to understand that it was your common .06 bolt. But the kicker was that he wanted to stabilize himself so he placed his shooting shoulder up against the pole. So he had the rifle on one side the pole to his back side of his shooting shoulder, and he wondered why it hurt like hell LOL.

getting ready for my first deer hunt when i was 12, my dad decided to test me to see what i should shoot..... model 94 30-30 or 12 gauge slug. at the time i was 4'7 and weighed 75 pounds. 30-30 went well. the slug, which he told me didn't kick that much because he didn't want me to be afraid, knocked me off the bench. it was thirty years ago, and i remember it like it was yesterday.

The most kick I've experienced was a Sharps .45-70 with no padding. I'm sure there are worse, but that one got my attention.

You shot a 50 from the PRONE position? Ouch!

Injured my shoulder about 14 years ago. After 10 years of therapy and treatment I thought it had healed. Shot my Model 70 338 Win Mag, Dropped rifle and was in extreme pain Still can't shoot it.
