Who still use the 32 .for carry

Just found a nice old CZ70. Great heavy trigger pull.
Perfect pocket carry, for when you're not having
abandonment issues.
I love my CZ-70. I got mine for $120 at a gunshow back around 2002. It's an upgraded CZ-50 (only minor cosmetic differences) and they are a CZ copies of a Walther PP (or maybe their version of the Makarov, which is also a copy of the Walther PP).

That gun is a great shooter. DA is very heavy, but it has a really nice SA pull. I actually prefer shooting it to my 32ACP Walther PP.

It's heavy though. I don't think I'd CC it. My similar size S&W Shield is better for that in every way. My primary pocket carry gun is my S&W 642 though.

CZ-70 on the bottom right, 32ACP and 22LR Manhurin (Walther) PPs on the left, East German Makarov on the top right. S&W 642 in center.

If I said "God is good," Mavracer and Cheapshooter would try to correct me
Nice ad hominem attack there, can't refute the facts that there isn't a significant difference in size (numbers don't lie) and while there is a significant difference in weight this would be counterproductive to much faster shooting.

I have no problem with. "god is good" but you're trying to say "god is good and Oklahoma is near the ocean"

Proportion also comes into play.
A 1 ounce difference between a 10 ounce gun and a 9 ounce gun is 10%.
A one ounce difference between a 10 ounce gun and a 20 ounce gun is 5%.
Size becomes significantly harder to reduce on already tiny guns.

Exactly, as stated in earlier posts. There is virtually no size difference in a P32, and any number of 380acp mouse guns. So if the shooter sees no appreciable difference in shooting the 380, why not carry it?
If the recoil of the 380 is for some reason objectionable, then settle for the 32.

I often carry my S&W 431PD revolver in 32 H&R Magnum.

Does that count?

Apparently I'm recoil shy, I found the LCP unpleasant to shoot, and the P32 doesn't bother me at all. You can show stats and sizes, but the feel of a gun in hand and in firing is too subjective per person to go by specs alone.

Unless people are specifically focusing on the .32 acp, it's still a ".32". I mentioned my LCR 327. I think .32 H&R Magnum compares favorably to .38 special in the same way that .327 Federal does to .357 magnum. The 431 is a great little carry gun for some of the same reasons that the LCR 327 is today: competent power with one more shot and a little less recoil.

I have carried my Keltec P32 more than any other piece, right at 17 yrs, as I bought one of the first ones out there. Fluff/buffed it and switched out the slide for a hard chrome finished version from keltec, cost me a whopping $15 at the time. Have carried it in a desantis pocket holster 90% of the time I carry. I have yet to have a single hiccup when firing this weapon.

MandolinMan: Excellent point.

Many people don't want to watch a video where somebody describes their background.
They assume that everybody else is a fake.

They can't comprehend that a former Marine Sniper (and Instructor?) might know something about shooting and tactics.

Because he's a former Marine sniper doesn't mean he knows anything about pocket pistols, does it?
I can "comprehend" that he might, but he doesn't demonstrate it in his video.

I have been carrying pocket pistols for 45 years. Maybe I know a little bit about them.

That said, I get your point about the P32. I have not had the opportunity to shoot one side by side with a .380 yet, but would like to.

I shot the P3AT and P32 at the same time, 10 rounds from each, and bought the P32. The .380 in that small a gun was just flat unpleasant to shoot.

I feel the same way about self-appointed internet authorities.

Wow. Is this the "Bag on Bill DeShivs" thread or something.

I agree with Bill, being a "former Marine sniper (and Instructor?)" doesn't have much to do with .32 ACP pocket pistols, does it? You can respect his Authoritay if you like, but I don't need to.

.32acp is perfectly reasonable as an SD round, after all,
it had killed literal millions over the last century.
It was THE caliber choice for many Euro/Asian PD's and Letter Agency types
up until the Caliber Wars of the 1980's, altho more well known as
the 7.65 Browning.

Many liked that follow-up shots were quick due to the low recoil.
Many liked that it didn't cause them to flinch and miss a shot.
Still used widely in many countries where they don't allow folks to own
any caliber round used by NATO.

Frankly, if one does their job and puts the bullets in the right places,
namely CNS shots, or other disabling locations, it'll do just fine.
Practicing regularly with what you carry is vitally important.

Which is why it's my choice for a Pocket Pistol round, when heat and
other Florida weather make it difficult to carry anything of Size.
Kinda hard to conceal much when yer half-nekkid on the beach most days.

Y'all yankees that wear coats half the year have lots more options when
it comes to concealing stuff...you can hide a cannon in all that material!!

Seems like quite a few people just want to prove me wrong or argue.
What gun anyone carries is a highly subjective matter. What you carry is your business. What I carry is mine. Why I carry one of these is stated in the thread-and the OP ASKED.

I will say that I like the .32ACP for a number of reasons.

I own a number of pistols in this caliber. Two Beretta 3020 Tomcats, two Taurus 732s, one CZ-83, one Beretta 81.

Being s senior citizen means I need something user friendly in a good gun and ammo combo. The .32ACP offers that.

The .380s and more powerful cartridges I do not shoot as well as the .32ACP pistols.

All the above mentioned pistols work well for me and that's all that counts whether it's a pocket pistol or compact framed auto.

id gladly trade my Sig P232 for a Walther/Manurhin pp/ppk..... .32 any day.
Better yet... trade that P232 for a .32 acp Sig P230. Now I've got to tell you that this P230 is a fun, accurate and easy gun to shoot well. The smaller case allows for one more round in the mag for a nice 8+1 loading. It even comes with a safety for those that need that feature.

Though I've never actually carried my .32 Sig, that's due to it's collectable value, not distrust in the viability of the ammo.

what is the advantage of the 230 over the 232. I thought the 232 was supposed to be an improvement?
I only mention the difference in caliber which occurred in the P230 exclusively. IMHO the Sig is a nicer pistol than the Walther. The P232, which does have some improvements, was chambered only in .380. The .32 makes the already beautiful pistol a real jewel and a bit more shooter friendly. If one desires a classic .32, then the Sig is a wonderful option.

OH, Get it! Now that is what I am going to hunt for, the classic P230 in .32 acp to go with my seecamp! I wanted a stainless p232, but now seeing your blue 230, that is a beauty!
Is the lanyard loop standard?
