Have a S&W also, but primary is an unmodified, unworked on (it did not need it...excellent stock trigger) Taurus 85:

This thread is from 2005. At the time Ruger didn't have a lightweight snubnose. The only choices were the Six series and sp101s. I have a feeling the voting would be different today.

BTW, mine is a KLCR.:D

Last time I posted was in 2006, ended up getting cancer. Had to sell all my firearms to help defray some of the medical bills, and other household bills. So I was just checking out some old posts to see if anyone was still interested. As I found out they are. Good to be back, and good to see some great responses. To me the old firearms, like the Smiths and Rugers are just awesome.

Welcome back. You can ALWAYS get my attention when you start talking about stubby 44 specials. I even have a Colt SAA sheriffs model with a 3 inch barrel in 44 thats one of my favorites.

My primary carry is a G26, but otherwise its my SP101 DOA. It accompanied me, and my family, out and about all day today. Great gun, and real pretty with Badger grips on.

I'd be interested to know how many 642's S&W has sold over the years. Must be boat loads... This is an old thread but what the heck... S&W 637 but I'm looking to add another. I'm stuck between the 642 (which I've owned in the past) 638 ( also owned in the past) 340PD (I owned a 342PD) and a model 60 Pro Series.

I voted for Smith, even though I owned my Colt Cobra before the Smith snubbie. I just never thought about carrying the Colt, as it has sentimental value.

I don't carry my snub much any more, but when I do, I prefer my S&W 637. I also own a Ruger SP101 that doesn't see much CCW action although it is a fine gun. I once owned a Taurus M85 that functioned too poorly to trust as a CCW gun. I no longer own it.

Well If a Ruger GP-100 with a 3 inch barrel counts...
That has been my EDC since I picked it up about a month ago.
Prior to that it was a 3 inch S&W M64
