Who carries more than one?

I prefer carrying extra magazines/speedloaders to carrying a second gun. I have on occasion slipped a P32 into my pocket as a second gun, but realistically I can change the magazine on my primary just as fast as I can draw the P32 from my pocket.

The only time I ever carried two was a time long ago when I was doing private security in a very bad part of the city I used to live in. At the time it was a GP100 and a Mossberg 500 pump.

An EDC and BUG seems a bit over zealous for a civilian under normal conditions. Unless your job requires it, like a LEO or some private security, one should be sufficient.

I wonder if it would go against you, having two guns, if you have to use one and end up before a grand jury? Could it be perceived that you are looking for trouble?

I'm just speculating out loud and not asking those questions rhetorically and I would not necessarily let what might or could happen after an action with your gun(s) dictate what, how, or how many guns you can legally carry.

Do what you feel protects you and or your family the best.

Hmmmm

We can't carry here in MD, but when I did up in PA I only carried a 8 shot .380. I viewed the purpose of the gun as purely defensive to get me out of a bad situation. No extra mags, no shoulder rigs, no BUG, no 9" Colt Anaconda crammed under a tank top.... LOL

I figured if I ever had to pull it and three to four rounds didn't solve the problem I probably wasn't going to make it out of the situation.

I'm not a LEO, nor am I in the Military. As a civilian, it's my opinion that one is plenty, and I rarely even carry a reload. NOW, if I were in Law Enforcement or the Military, I could understand the need for "more is better".

I've assessed my personal needs and find one without a realod to be enough. Now I know someone will say "what If blah blah blah, rather be prepared etc.etc."

I don't wear a 5 point racing harness and a full face helmet with a nomex suit, socks, gloves, and underpants when I drive my pickup truck to work. Yup, if I were ever involved in a fire ball of a crash, all of the above would improve my odds, but I think just wearing the factory installed seat belt is fine for my personal needs. I wonder how many non LEO guys with 3 realoads, and a b.u.g. wear 5 point racing harnesses and nomex undies, on their ride to work and back. Better to be prepared right? ;)

And with a defeatist attitude, you probably wouldn't have...

Hmm, who carries three? That would be Evan Marshall, a man who has been there, done that.
I will carry a BUG now and then, as I feel like it, and I honestly don't care what people think of it. If you are happy with a 5 shot snub and no reloads, that's great, nice light package. If you are happy with a subcompact pistol and one extra mag, fantastic, glad you're carrying to defend yourself. I don't mind what you carry, whatever makes you happy, and you can use effectively. The only time it ever got out of control was when a guy showed up to work with a black trenchcoat on, carrying one gun each side thigh AND belt holsters, one in a shoulder rig, and a rifle with drum mag and 37mm flare launcher under the other. He left most of the hardware in the vault that day - the company didn't mind back up guns, but that was a WEE bit out there. It was also legal.
So if you carry a BUG, cool, nice to have that for the possability of breakage or unclearable jam - Mr Murphy seems to always be along for the ride when everything goes south. if you don't, that's also cool, great country we live in that recognizes the right to diversity of opinion.

DEFINITLY OVERKILL. For a civilian, a concealed firearm is a contingincy plan, like a spare tire. I only carry one spare tire and I have used a spare tire at least a dozen times over the years.

I carry either a NAA .22lr in a holster grip or P11 to better "dress for the occasion". Never both. I see no reason to carry an extra gun on my person, but I often keep a collapsible or folding stock rifle in my vehicle as well as whichever CCW I'm not carrying .

Sig P220ST .45 ACP on the hip, backed up with a Ruger SP101 .357 on the ankle. However, that's when I'm at work {tail light chaser}. Off-duty, I switch to my personally owned {and FAR more reliable than the Sig} Ruger P-90, carried in a strong-side IWB, one reload, no BUG.

I'm gun ambidextrous but slightly right hand dominant.

If I carry a 1911, I usually put a j-frame on weak side OWB.

Sometimes I'll put a G26 OWB weak side from the G19 or G17.

The most common scenario for me if I'm carrying two guns is a primary gun strong side and the "other" gun (usually a j-frame, not considered a BUG) in my front left pocket or jacket pocket. This allows me to stand casually with my hands in my pockets with a gun in my hand. Think gas pump, waiting in line, that kind of thing.

A New York reload beats a magazine change every time, at least for me.

Sort of cary two guns!!

I ALWAYS carry my LCR in a Kamer pocket holster, however this method is not good access from a sitting driving position, so I normally keep another handgun beside me beween the seat and consol of the truck with a towal over it for genral conclament. This gives me very quick accesss should there be a problem at a stop light or what have you yet when I get out I already have my LCR i my pockett and that set-up lets me carry always regaurdles of what I where. Pockett carry is certainly not perfect but with a good quailtiy holster I find never a time I am not armed and thats the main factor for me...to always be armed becuse the time I'm not will e the time I need it. Also If I know I will b driving all day I will sometimes slip the LCR into a Kramer cross draw holster. Extermmly easy draw from sitting position.

huh?

...or a complete misinterpretation of my self confidence.

I know we don't all live in calm suburbia, so if you need to pack two handguns, four mags and a katana to stay safe. Go for it!

One of the things that really bothers me about MD is that it is illegal to own body armor unless you're a police officer or security personnel.

the naa in my pocket or seecamp and either my kahr or p7.. And i hope i never make it to the pocket guns.. would be a very bad day..

..or a complete misinterpretation of my self confidence.
Or a lack of understanding that sometimes there are more than one BG, or he may take an entire magazine to stop, or the list goes on and on...

I usually carry one, Rohrbaugh R9s with a reload. However I've been working out and loosing weight (hope it continues) to eventually carry a Walther PPS IWB and likely a bug of a Seecamp 380.

I always have my Sig P238 on me unless I go in a bank or courthouse or somesuch. If I go a place which I view as especially high-risk (unusual) I add an H&K P2000 and two extra mags in a shoulder rig to my Sig. I feel like it is a better idea to avoid such areas if possible, but sometimes that isn't possible.
