Which Semi Auto are Considering Buying Next and Why?

Ruger Mk IV Hunter.

Single best selling point is the ambidextrous safety, which to my knowledge no other rimfire semi-auto offers.

It makes handling the pistol by us other-handers much safer and faster to deploy in the field.

The next pistol I plan to buy isn't even on the market yet. I am waiting for Glock to introduce a G21S. That is a Glock 21 with the slimmed and lightened slide and barrel concept introduced in the G36, then added to the G30s and finally fully developed in the G41. They need to fill the gap between the G30S and the G41 with a G21S.

I'm waiting but not sure how long that wait is going to be,
Dave

Read all the responses and no one mentioned THE ONE:

Browning Hi Power 9 mm

Old school but as effective and more so as any mentioned other than the 1911s.

I'm thinking the new CZ P10 might be nice. The P09 I had was the most accurate 9mm I've ever had, never should've let it go. So I'm hoping the P10 will be as good but in a striker version. Even though I'm pretty old school (revolver guy), I have come to really like striker fired pistols.

Still debating a Glock 43 or Sig 938 Extreme.... Choices.... Love me the single stack 9's. I have a Kahr 98 Elite, but it is HEAVY....

No firearms acquisitions for me for the foreseeable future. Especially after the third attempted break-in in five years at my house. I don't want anything else there for some lowlife crackhead to get his hands on.

The next semi-auto that I'm considering is another STI 2011. An STI Tactical 4.0" in .45auto.

Why? Because the STI Edge .40S&W that I have now is such an incredible pistol that I want a similar pistol, with shorter barrel, for EDC.

I just picked up the two I was considering- The Walther PPS M2 9mm and the Ruger LCP 2.

The Walther fills a gap in my carry rotation, a single stack 9mm. The LCP 2 replaces my older LCP as a summer time carry pistol.

I shot both at the range yesterday for the first time, and both were excellent.

It has not been produced for years. The Walther P5: in 9mm Luger, 9x19.
Have never handled it, but reports are very encouraging.

It looks exactly like the WW2 P-38/post-war P-1 with most of the long barrel cut off. One would imagine that the ergos and trigger have been improved.

Don't really know why but I've been itching for a Sphinx SDP Compact. I also want a PPS M2.

Just picked up a Springfield XD9 mod2 at the gun show Saturday. Feels really good in my hand. Gonna try it out at the range this weekend.

Was just in the market for a quality full size steel framed 9mm. They don't really make high powers anymore, I hate Beretta's, and I can't afford a 1911. Plus I think a full size 1911 in anything other than .45 is sacrilege:D
I ended up choosing a CZ 75 BD; the decocker model.

Also Joe, you should probably invest in a good safe and possibly a dog if you're having those kind of problems. A decent safe will only cost as much as a nice pistol.

Well I just bought a Glock 30 on black Friday. The store had them for $459 and the next thing I know my credit card is on the counter. I don't need it but it's mine now. Got to say the stock sights on it suck. New sights are in the future.

Just bought the Glock 19 gen 4 with nite sites, Picked it up Friday and inspected it
I was totally 100% pleased. The Glock was clean as a whistle. No marks, scratches and no obstructions. As advised, I gave it a light swab and lube. Working on my new leather holster so it doesn't stick. Bought this because of the other semis
that I tried, this fit my requirements perfectly.

CZ 75B SP 01 tactical in urban Grey. Not sure about the color. If i don't like the color i think it looks like it would be a good base color for a custom paint job.

Hopefully I can get it on Friday!

Considering a .45 host for a suppressor...looking at an XDm with a threaded barrel and tall sights or the Remington enhanced 1911 with the same.

fl-rich, I bought the SP01 Tactical (in black) a few months ago, and I absolutely love it. Shoots like a dream and, in my hands, is the most accurate pistol I own.

Pappy - Just picked mine up! Cleaned it, loaded it and headed to the range. 100 rounds later EVERY hit was inside of my fist at 10 meters! It's sweeet!!! I want to clean up the trigger take up and lighten it a bit and it will be awesome!

Also picked up an LCP w/laser today at my LGS for my little sister's Christmas present.......... She's gonna freak!
