Which Semi Auto are Considering Buying Next and Why?

I was looking at a Glock 23 , ready to bid .. When i saw a Springfield XDS 45 ... at a verygood price ... I have a 45acp weakness .. So a Glock 23 is back on top of the list .... But first , i have save a few more frog skins !!!

It Followed Me Home

I was not looking for anything except ammo at last week's gun show when I found a S&W Model 422 for sale at a dirt cheap price. The reason for the low price may have been that it was missing its rear sight.

I considered buying the gun because I have wanted to mount a rail and red dot sight on the 422 that I have had for years but I did not want to screw-up a mint condition gun.

I bought the gun and started work on it as soon as I got home. I cut down a Weaver rail that I had in my junk box and drilled and tapped the 422's slide. I put a cheap red dot on the rail and headed for my local gun range.

The new set-up worked fine.

HK USP9. I will have completed the "Wondernines" collection! I have the G17, P226, 92fs, just lacking the USP!

I've been looking for a carry gun with a little more capacity than my LC9s. I've narrowed it down to either a Ruger SR9C or the Taurus P111G2. Well the Taurus won out today, I really liked them both but the Taurus just felt great, gets great reviews and the price can't be beat. It's my present for my 62nd birthday.

I thought my answer would be none, but the other day I was talking with a friend of mine about 1911s in general and realized that I have never owned either a full size 1911 or a Colt.

Well, we can't have that can we? So once I clear it with the boss, I'll be a proud owner of some model of Colt 1911 5-inch slug thrower. Which means the research starts on Monday. 'Do I buy a new one? If I buy one used, what years are better than others? Which model(s) should I be looking at?' And so forth . . .

I'm thinking about picking up a new Sig P225-a1. i have only 2 semi-autos, but this one has really caught my eye and it feels great in the hand... A bit pricey but.... one of these days i might be worth it!!

yes, i understand it's a single stack 9, and therefore limited capacity, but..... if you'll notice my location, you'll understand why it's not a huge concern, especially when i carry...

I've bought 4 new guns this year. A Buckmark UFX Camper in January, and an FNS-9, an FNS-40, and an SR9 since June. All duotone models, stainless slide, black frames. I just really dig that look.

Now, though, I can honestly say that I don't want anything else. The number of handguns that I own is starting to get a bit silly. I've recently sold a couple, and it still required a lot of creativity in order to make room in the safe for these new additions.

So, you guys enjoy.

Glock 23 is riding comfortably IWB right now. :) To complete my EDC rotation for now I'm looking for the right .45 ACP. I carry Springfields and Glocks to give you an idea of the direction I'm heading here: Glock 36, Glock 30S, Springfield XDS 4.0", etc.. Feedback welcome. I'm always open..

Wethepeople... YES, Sig makes a P320 45 in full size and compact and it is very popular. So much so that when they come up for sale, they're snapped up in a hurry. Retailers have them on order right now and I'm expecting that in the coming weeks, we will see them on the shelves again, for a short while.

Based on my exceptional experience with three P320s that I have (Full size 40, Carry 40, and Compact 9) I am very interested in picking up the P320 45.

I was introduced to the Arex Rex Zero 1 in 9mm by the Military Arms Channel. MAC put it through his torture test with a Sig Legion P226, and it was one of the best he had tested...and not the Sig.

I'm sure I'll never put any firearm through anything like that since I'm now retired, but I love having the peace of mind knowing that if my pistol is exposed to goop, it probably will still go BANG.

However, I still want to fondle it a while before actually purchasing.

I'm looking at buying a .22lr target pistol. A Hammerli 208s if I go used, or a Hammerli Xese Sport if new. Possibly a S&W 41 but not sure yet.

I've been reading more about the CZ 75. I may have to save up for one of the Shadow custom shop models.

I just bought a CZ P01 (picked it up today). I intend it to be both a carry and range gun. What is next is hard to say. While on the search that led me to the P01, there were several guns that were high on my list that I'm interested in, and others that didn't fit for that purchase that I may want. A Glock (lets keep that open, but possibly a 23), another P250 (or caliber x-change kit) in either .40S&W or .357SIG, a 3rd Gen S&W auto or two, a SIG P229, a Colt or Springfield Armory 1911, a Colt 1911 in 10mm, a CZ RAMI, a Springfield XD or XDm (probably full size, though maybe compact) and others are all on that list and could well end up the next gun. I don't really need a carry gun (I have several that will do, and I only carry part-time since I can't carry in my home state), and for range use most of my needs are covered, so it will really be a "just because" gun. Though, if circumstances change unexpectedly and I find myself living in a shall-issue state (either through an unexpected move, or should MD change its laws or finally be forced by the courts to adopt shall issue) the Glock may end up higher on the list since they are great carry guns for full-time carry (they may be the best combinations of carriable and concealable size, controlability, and capacity out there).
