Which handgun does your wife prefer?

My wife, her sister, and a shooting buddy's wife all agree on the same one, strangley enough; S&W 4" k-frame Model 10/64. When was the last time any of you got three different women to agree on anything they'd use as an "accessory?" ;)

My wife likes the wheel guns mostly

When she was shooting a lot my wife preferred some variation or other of the Government Model in 45 ACP above all others. She still has two first edition Kimbers but since she's gotten out of competition and only shoots occasionally she prefers a Glock 19 as a carry gun, for the high capacity and quick recovery for follow up shots. She is also very fond of her Beretta 87 Cheetah in 22 LR.

Wife's preference

My wife has shot my Browning Buckmark .22, Ruger SP 101 .38/.357 S&W model 19 .38/.357 and Glock mod. 22, .40 S&W
She doesn't shoot because she wants to, She only shoots when I tell her to. She needs to be familiar with the guns so she can protect herself and back me up.

I won't count the .22, even she knows it's not the best defensive round. She tolerated the S&W Model 19 with .38 special the best. Not great with it but I wouldn't want her shooting at me. I gave the Smith to my daughter when she moved out so for now the Glock has to be her go to gun, She can handle it but doesn't really like it. When prices come down a little I intend to buy a Ruger GP-100. I'm sure she will like it.

My wife and daughter both like to shoot my Ruger MkII target pistol (they'd probably like a lighter one better, this one has a long bull barrel.) Daughter tried my .38 K-frame S&W and didn't like the recoil but she shot it OK.

S&W Model 14-3 6" .38 Special Revolver

My wifes favorite was our Model 14-3 6" Barrel .38 Special revolver.

1st time out with it she was shooting 6" groups at 25 yards.
Nearly no recoil. She liked my XD-45, hated the .357 snub nose.
The 45 - she shot 8" & 10" groups consistantly at 25 yards.
I hate to admit it, but she is a better shot than I am.
As soon as I get it repaired it will abe her favorite again

My wife's favorite for years has been a Taurus model 82. But just this week I purchased a Ruger P95 and she's stolen it from me. It's the first auto she's able to load by herself, so now all of a sudden she's gone "tactical" on me.

You never know....

Because it was really, really cheap, I bought one of the clunkiest guns I've ever held, an Iver Johnson Cadet in .32 long. When at rest, the hammer covers the rear sight groove, a crazy feature for a double action weapon. Anyway, my girlfriend took to it like a duck to water. She's super accurate and pretty fast with it. She loves it and now it's her house gun.

Her carry gun is a little, old .32 short H&R hammerless. It's very small, easy to shoot and not an inconvenience. Actually, they're well-designed, well-made guns. Yes, I know it's no cannon but, when I met her, she had never shot anything and now has a carry permit and carries regularly. She's also become very good with an SKS. The babysteps method seems to be working here.
