Which companies give out lifetime warranties?

S&W's warranty certainly does have limitations, as noted above.

I bought a 6" 25-5 in nickel a while back. It had a very bad case of push off, I'm sure the previous owner went nuts with a stone and destroyed the hammer. I tried replacement but could not get the gun to function properly, I guess it just needed hand fitting. For $100, S&W replaced the hammer and made it all work again. I paid $550 for the gun so another $100 to make it functional was worthwhile, but that wasn't warranty work. Now I can't really expect them give me free service for a user's intentional damage but since I limit myself to mostly used guns, nobody's warranty make much difference to me. Instead, I just try to buy high quality so it doesn't ever have to go back to the factory (ie: Taurus, Charter Arms, etc.)

I thought HK offered a life time warranty...at least I sent one in on a P7M8. I could be wrong about the "life time".

None.

No company gives a warranty.

The cost of the warranty is built into the price of the gun.

Many companies offer a warranty, none give a warranty.

Peachy.

Kilimanjaro Rifles has lifetime warranty

Kilimanjaro makes great custom rifles and they offer a life-time warranty to the original purchaser of the rifle. I believe it covers their labor and craftsmanship, including their Stealth Lamination. It, of course, doesn't cover normal wear and tear, damage from misuse, throat erosion of the barrel from shooting beyond the barrel's typical lifespan.

These guys really stand behind their rifles. And, their customer service is the best, as well. They really do their best to help solve the problem.

Take a look at their website: http://kilimanjarorifles.com

Charter Firearms offers a lifetime warranty that follows the gun. I've read good things about their customer service here, and have had positive interactions in my limited experience with them.

Some of the best service on the planet comes from the company that tells you they are not required by law to offer one (and leaves you wondering, "What the hell does that mean?").

Because many different states have differing legal requirements and defintions of what a warranty is (and must be), some companies (Ruger is one) do not offer a "warranty". They do stand behind their products, and give good customer service (in general, there may be exceptions), but they avoid numerous potential legal entanglements by not having a written warranty.

I make it a point not to buy firearms from any company that gives out a "lifetime warranty". I find that most products, including guns, that need to advertise "lifetime warranty" is to aleviate genuine concerns buyers might have about quality and reliability.

I usually have a genuine concern about quality and reliability about everything I buy, whether an automobile, microwave, or firearm. The fact that a company would offer a lifetime warranty makes me believe they're doing something right. If not, they can fix it or give me a new one.

There are many examples where a warranty or guarantee equals quality work. Think of a plumber who guarantees his work for 5 years vs. one who only gives you six months. I'd take the 5 year guarantee in writing anyday.

Anyway, I know Taurus and Bersa both offer lifetime warranties. Although Bersa's is only with the original owner.
TAURUS: We know how good our guns are, and we are not afraid to stand behind them...for a lifetime.http://www.taurususa.com/repair-policy.cfm

BERSA: for as long as this BERSA firearm is owned by the original purchaser, BERSA S.A. offers to service and repair any defects or malfunction in this BERSA firearm excluding the finish, grips, sights or magazine, without charge.http://www.bersa.com/warranty

No company gives a warranty.

Many companies offer a warranty, none give a warranty.

Peachy.

Wouldn't that mean hipoints would cost 3 times as much?

S&W will not work on pre-57 guns. Even though my Registered Magnum has a lifetime warantee, they won't work on it anymore.

So lifetime is less then 50 years to S&W right now.

Les Baer doesn't offer any warranty per se. But if NO ONE else has messed with the gun, they will repair it for free no matter how old it is.

I would hope so with the price you pay for the gun. SA has done well by me. They fixed my XD 9mm which at the time was just under 5 years old and they picked up shipping both ways as well as the repairs.

As has been stated firearms are mechanical devises. Mechanical things DO BREAK.

Think about most of the items in your home and things you own. How many of them offer "Lifetime Warranty"????
From the items the wife and I own the only things that have way above average warranty's are firearms. Get real here folks machines wear out and break down, new, used.

I skimmed through the entire thread w/ posts and all...Don't recall anything solid on SIG...I know my old BHP probably doesn't anymore...I could be wrong.

I'm really curious on my SIG. Glock has a great one, springfield too, I know this.

What does SIG have? Heard once from some guy at the range they do but they charge? Wth

Any company that offers a Warranty must comply with the Moss-Magnuson federal warranty law.

Since you must return the gun to the factory for service, any warranty MUST be called "limited."

Many of the gun makers did not want to comply, so they offer no "warranty" but many of them also will repair anything that is wrong, some for pretty near forever.
.

the new sigs have a "lifetime" warranty to the purchaser not the gun, Springfield warrants the gun for the life of the firearm ( note here, finish is warranted for 1 year from original date of purchase to original owner only) as do kel-tec ,taurus, S&W has probably the best warranty in the busand the best customer service to boot as does springfield

Not True. Here's their policy as published and previously posted:

I can't speak to the other manufacturers' terms & conditions but I've had occasion to return both new and used S&W firearms for repairs and the total cost to me, showing no receipts, including shipping both ways was $0.00.

One caveat, if a S&W firearm as been modified—Internal Lock Removal, Action Job, Barrel shortening, etc— or was manufactured before February 1, 1989, you get to pay for the repair and at least one way shipping.
