Which .22 handgun would you buy of these two?

Hammer down...its the revolver for shooting pleasure. But the Colt has investment quality.

So for the sake of discussion, flip a coin. Heads-Colt; Tails-Smith.

I have reduce this debate to a one penny answer.:D

what r ya gonna be using it for? Regardless of the answer and of my personal habit of stearing clear of .22 autos, I would tell u to go with the colt. It'll be worth slot more than the smith if ya ever need to sell it again , and you will have alot more fun plinking with it ( which is what I suspect this is for) and just plain op looking at it, than the smith.;)

While I love S&W revolvers of the era,

Get the Woodsman. With the extras, that makes it the sweet deal, no matter what. Woodsman is the name in classic .22 autos. For you rown use, or for an investment, or both, the Woodsman is the better choice.

The Smith is a fine gun, and that appears to be a fine one, but the Woodsman is the one you should grab NOW, while you can. Unless you need that paricular Smith to fill a hole in your collection, go for the Woodsman now, and the Smith (or one like it) later. Deals like the Woodsman, with the extra mags and grips don't come around often. Grab it today!
