I had a Kimber CDPII that fell apart in my hands while I was shooting it. Turns out the ambi safety broke in half...
I had the exact same thing happen with an Ultra CDP II safety - they must've been making those ambi safties out of zinc for a while. Wasn't a complete show-stopper though.

But, even a broken Kimber ran better than that AMT hardballer. Of the ones I've owned, the AMT was in a class by itself.

taurus

Since Taurus is leadind this pos pistol experiences i would like know which model is the crapiest, since i used 45 in millinium pro and no problems at 1000 rds so far. What should i be aware of even i personally dont shoot it. Its with my driver for the most part.

A tie

Between the S&W mod 457 .45acp and the Sprinfield xd40 5" tactical. The Smith wouldn't hit the ground if you were aiming at it and the Springfield developed some sort of rattle after about 2500 rounds.

The Smith was well used when I got it but I think the Croats dropped the ball on that particular xd.

Years ago Astra made an ultralight in 9mm. Aluminium frame, steel slide. After about 500 rds. you could barely hit a 9" paper plate at 25'. Worst ever!

This story also has a BIG upside! I traded this for a Super Blackhawk with one shot fired from it. The guy had mounted a rifle scope on it and you can guess the rest. He wanted to go back to 9mm, I told him everything about the Astra and he was still go. One of my best deals.

J-22

I have a Jennings J22, when they were puting that special coating that they were trying to ban cause fnger prints could not be left behind.

Well last Saturday i put 50 rounds of cci mini mag's thru it and had 0 jams, Trigger pull is stiff, but mine goes bang everytime. The mag has been loaded for years.

Just my 2 cents worth, sometimes I carry it as CCW

Wow, I am surprised to see how very poorly the Glock and Kimber products are being rated in this poll.

To everyone who is unhappy with their Glock or Kimber:

Please PM me, and I will give you $200 to take your piece of junk off your hands.

silent_hitz

It is kinda hard shipping guns from Pakistan. Plus 200$ would not cut a deal since a Glock costs here about 5500 US dollars, and this Colt is my very precious gun, which I will get fixed, and put away as part of collection- not active use.

That said I envy you guys in US where you can buy virtually any handgun under 800 bucks unless those special ones. But the trade off is the availability of automatic weapons here and licenses to own them.

I stayed in US for over 10 years and now regret that I did not make any use of quaity guns at the gun clubs/ranges.

I guess in exchage of my two Glocks and Stichken, I could make a very elaborated collection in the US. Well just for kicks: a Taurus .45 cost me 1100 US$!

Firepower!

Chill out bro', I was kidding around.:) I didn't think anyone would take it seriously...even here in the US! I had no idea what country you lived in, and yes I know it is VERY hard for folks in many countries to get firearms...and a long wait even for parts they have to order.

I don't for one minute take my easy access to weapons and parts for granted, I have friends from Thailand that paid an arm and a leg just for parts before they moved to the US.

Worst for me was recently - Kimber Stainless TLE II.

Big problems with FTF - I polished the ramp and breechface, tried different mags, a heavier recoil spring, worked on the extractor - nothing worked. I sent it back to Kimber, they repeated my steps and said they re-reamed the chamber (looked like they used a rat-tail file ), sent it back an I still had the same problems. Sold it and bought a Springfield TRP. Haven't looked back.

Worst gun? Definitely my RG-22. It's an old family heirloom; it belonged to my great-great-grandmother. They were poor, old country folk living in the rural south, and this pistol was reflective of their status! I hear if you ever find a new one, in the box, it will sell for $45.00. Personally, I wouldn't pay that much for one!

Every couple of years, I'll put six rounds of .22lr through it, just to prove I can. In a cylinder of 6, it will usually misfire at least 2 of the rounds. Keep on pulling the trigger, and it will eventually discharge all 6 rounds...

Definitely not a gun worth its weight in metal.

S&W 3913 9mm

I selected my S&W 3913 9mm, not because it is a terrible pistol, and not because it has been unreliable or broken - but rather because the design is a serious PITA to reassemble after cleaning.

well, and because I wanted to see the results of the poll, so I had to vote.

of all I have, that is the only one I am disatisfied with at all....

BTW, way 2 go HK.... still holding a firm.. ZERO votes! whoo-hoo!:D

A Federal Ordinace Ranger-Lite. A aluminum frame Gov't model knock off. Would'nt fee ball ammo unless you pressed the magazine up all the way while firing the pistol.
