Okay, I call it a hobby, ask Shin Tao and he'll say it's an obsession. Belly Dancing. I dance usually 3 nights a week and sometimes do afternoon shows on the weekend. Yesterday I spent most of the day standing in the middle of a field in Oilville, VA in full Bedouin tribal regalia having my picture taken with a camel! It was for a poster advertising an auction for the Animal Rescue Foundation's fall auction.
I also collect harem girl pinup calendars and postcards from the '40s and '50s.
Of course, now that I'm a homeowner, I think I'm looking at acquiring some new hobbies...which aren't exactly glamorous...drywall, anyone?

Hey! Thanks for the link! I've never heard of King Arthur. I have to admit that I use a bread machine to do a lot of the mixing and kneading nowdays. I've got a loaf in right now for an onion white bread.
Tuesday it will probably be a portwine & blue cheese bread for a picnic I'm going on on Thursday.

Beware the man with the S&W .357 Mag.
Chances are he knows how to use it.
My dad brewed beer. It was horrible! I'm pretty much a professional musician, so I can't really call that a hobby. Radio, scanning and shortwave, cycling, and building museum quality models, mainly 1/48 scale Navy and Marine Corps aircraft.

Mike, it's the old lady, arthritic finners (I did that one on purpose). Don't overlook all the products: dough enhancers, exotic flours and grains, flavoring agents, and pans and things that you never see in the stores. They have pans *just* for Kaiser rolls (also a curved X cutter), pullman loaves, etc. I also use nothing but their flour. This place is about an hour and a half from where we live, and I have never gone to look. Go figure.
For Mike Irwin: would you be willing to share the recipes for the onion white and the port wine bleu cheese breads? You can send them via e-mail, if you wish. I suspect our door is going to get slammed shortly, 'cause this thread is getting loooooong.
