I'm just trying to get a feel on everyone else. So, what hobbies do you have outside of guns, shooting, and how things in our country have gone wrong/right?

Mine. Reading anything I get my hands on, eating/cooking good food, and brewing beer. Anyone else brew here?

Next to guns and shooting I spend a lot of time reloading. Outside of shooting sport, I spend a lot of time bass fishing in my backyard, reading (anything and everything), gardening (it relaxes me) and playing with my dogs (Mrs. and I have not been bless with our own yet).

If we want to have a strong country we need to raise strong children and sitting in front of TV is not going to make our children strong.

working on my Land Cruisers, 4 wheeling, and banging on my drum set. Soccer and mountain biking, too.

Besides the shooting and reloading, I make my own holsters and other leather stuff for gifts to my family and friends. I have to read, at least one hour a day. If I have time left, I'll get on the net to get my news and views.
But my favorite hobby is vacation! Montana, here I come!

I'm sort of in between right now. I was a Boy Scout leader for nearly 13 years which was a truely enjoyable hobby. But, due to my recent health problems, I've decided to retire from that. It is very time consuming and everything has to run on a schedule.
On the bright side, I'm taking daily walks to exercise the old ticker and on weekends usually take a long hike in the woods. Planning a camping trip next month. I've always enjoyed the outdoors and studying the relationships which make an ecosystem work. I guess now I'll have more time to myself for such things.

Reading, bodysurfing, running, biking, going to musicals/shows/concerts, trying to find a good woman in Kali (It's hard, many are VERY self involved), dreaming about moving to Dallas next year after I graduate :D

As found in my profile...

"Family first, friends second, and everything else in its own time and place..."

That pretty much sums it up...

Hey evil twin, that sounds like a great idea.
Maybe we can get together... :)

have tape, need a vacation...

Bass fishing, particularly the phosphate pits of central Florida. I caught an 11 pound, 6 ounce bass last year!

Autograph collecting. One of my favorites is a Ray Bradbury 6X9 inch card with a wierd design that is inscribed to me.

Reading. Everything and anything, but for many years true crime has been my favorite genre.

Writing. I still consider writing a hobby, even though my book was published a year and a half ago.

Hobbies other than shooting, buying, selling, collecting, discussing, cleaning, ogling at, working on, and caressing guns and their accessories?

Well, I guess work and sleep would have to count as a couple of my hobbies. :D

Reloading, running, photography, books, and news among others.

"The great German poet, Goethe, who also lived through a crisis of freedom, said to his generation: 'What you have inherited from your fathers, earn over again for yourselves or it will not be yours'. We inherited freedom. We seem unaware that freedom has to be remade and re-earned in each generation of man."

--Adlai Stevenson, "Politics and Morality", Saturday Review, February 7, 1959.

LSD (long slow distance) running (half marathons), coaching youth (3rd-8th grade) basketball (2 daughters), hiking off-trail in Colorado wilderness areas (okay, sneaking around in the forest).

Aside from guns?? Hmmmm.

I do a bit of knifemaking.

I also enjoy biking, hiking, rock climbing, spelunking, reading, music, and futzing around with computers and electronics.

Later,
Chris

Striped Bass fishing on Cape Cod in Massachusetts. I just caught a 40 inch, 28 lb'er last weekend. I also collect autographs like bestdefense357, with the exception that mine are from porn stars. Jenna Jameson is my latest addition.
I also spend a lot of time 4-wheelin in my JEEP.

I drink a lot so the cost is up there. I am intersted in re-loading my own beer. Any tips JCH?

My hobbies, apart from firearms and firearm related matters, include reading (mostly history), collecting Southern pottery, doing yard work and gardening, collecting rare books (mostly history), and lurking on computer sites like this one (my wife claims I am "addicted" to the computer).

JCH, My husband is just brewing his second batch and is loving it. Have you been doing it long?

I read and garden, mostly, but there are a few things I'd like to get more into as soon as the kids are out of the house. White-water rafting for one.
