What's Your "Go To War" Pistol?

92FS...ammo is the most common (9mm) worldwide for a pistol...and the beretta is proven in combat, accurate, built like a tank!

Glock 17 Gen3...Gen4 has too many small issues that need to be addressed, long reliable track record, good trigger, tough, and high capacity, light,

Browning Hi-Power, Extremely Accuracy combat proven, once again ammo (9mm)

M&P9...up and comer...all stainless (I have seen glock rust up at the range quite often...doesnt matter what anyone says...one gun that is why it needs to withstand minimal maintenance and all environment) makes this gun a long lasting all elements weapon not to mention ergonomics and backstraps that actually work for all hands. It hasnt been around but certainly rising fast! No major issues with this platform

1911...combat proven, excellent accurate in anyones hand, reliable!

A lot of guns that haven't been to war are updates or upgrades of guns that have. P99 --> PPQ, HS2000 --> XDm, etc.

I love the pictures of all these brand new shiny looking handguns with their recommendation for battle when they probably haven't even been broken in yet. Now Hoytinak, that's the kind of recommendation I like to see. The gun wear tells a story. If a person ever trains with an elite unit you will find that the weapons often look beat up, taped on, scratched, finish wear, etc. But the functionality is outstanding. They've been used as a tool and have shown their durability, reliability and accuracy over and over again. Those are the recommendations I like to see. The gun tells a story that they've been there and done that, and held up. Some of these other guns just look like show and tell....I just can't get the picture of my high polished CZ75B stainless with 200 rounds through it to load. :) Honestly, my pick, gen 3 Glock 34 which happens to be my duty gun.

all of my pistols have lanyard rings. Military or police. The OP said you have to currently own the pistol for it to qualify. That would make mine a CZ82. Light, Fast, dead on hits. Two to the chest and move to the next threat. My "guns" like myself, have been to war.

Sig 556 pistol.. does that count? I mean its TECHNICALLY a pistol...

I would take my p226 9mm.. but if i had an FN five-seven and ammo wasn't an issue then I'd use that because of the armor piercing capabilities.

Glock 17, but if I had one, Beretta M9, Sig 226 9mm or any 1911 9mm. Then I would pick up the enemy's weapon and stockpile ammo for it as I dispatch others.
