What's Your "Go To War" Pistol?

My off-duty carry / HD piece, my Ruger P-90, .45 ACP. Tougher and stronger than it needs to be, and works every single time, with no problems [can't say likewise for my department-issued Sig P220ST, but don't get me started].

I'd be most comfortable with my Colt Mark IV in .45 ACP, but I'd have to say my PLR-16 with as many mags as I could carry.

since it's apparently "of what guns you own," I wouldn't take just one. think something along the lines of The Outlaw Josey Wales but with three times as many guns.

If i could pick a gun, well... what are the chinese using? something in that caliber

There's not a lot of call for old fat men in the front lines.

.... as if there have been any front lines in any war in the last nearly 100 years (WW I being the last with strictly defined front lines).

Go to war? The next war will surely come to us.

That said, I'll be using long guns, in whatever caliber I have available, probably in whatever the enemy is carrying, as I lack a well developed Quartermaster Dept.

Usually the war goes to someone in any war. However, there have been times when men either too old or too young to have been desirable in a regular front-line unit have successfully held their own. The Siegfried Line along the German border was generally manned by less than best quality troops and they did pretty well. But that was because they were in fortified positions. It was a myth that fortifications were obsolete in WWII.

one gun and it has to be a pistol. Well as a kid in the war I used a 1911;so I guess as I know the platform that would be my choice. Fighting a war with only pistols it's going to be and up close personal war. I am 64 years old, been there done that, I am Old & fat but I would do it again if the need were to arise. But I get to take my K-bar and 870 remington shotgun. I am to fat to run and but my eye sight is still good enough to shoot.

Well, I only own two handguns and, although small, their both bulletproof, shootable, and completely dependable: Glock 26 9mm & Ruger SP101 .357mag

But hopefully someone in my "Red Dawn" gang can loan me a rifle, or I can scavenge from enemy dead!:p

Only own 2 handguns. A SR9c I use for CC and a PPQ9 I use as my range gun. Both are great and have been extremely reliable. If I could only take one it would be the SR9C which I have fired many more rounds than the PPQ. If pushed, I wouldn't hesitate to take the PPQ.

I have a Glock 35 with a 6.5 mm steel Glock rear sight and a TruGlo fiber optic front sight. I also have 9mm and 357 SIG coversion barrels from Lone Wolf for it. Pretty much covers any ammo I may find on a battlefield. They all shoot to the same point of aim at 25 yards. Like some already said I'm carrying my rifle if I need to go to war. The handgun is a last desperate act sort of weapon, underpowered and hard to shoot compared to any battlerifle. Here it is in 9mm configuration.
