What's your favorite round

Again? This gets asked about once a week.

.45 acp. Because I handload, and shoot a fair bit.
If I did only the former, perhaps it would be 10mm or .41 Mag.
If I did only the latter, it would be .22 LR.

.45 acp for a man stopper, 22lr for on the range all day, and 9mm for everything else...not a huge 9mm fan but you usually get high capacity and good accuracy with most hanguns chambering 9mm.

I always thought it was the 44 mag or special but I only have 3 revolvers chambered for those and I have a half dozen 357 magnum revs that I shoot far more often so ..... the 357 currently. Subject to change though.

Free rounds!... .40Super...

Any round that is free! :)

Really, I'm keen on the wildcat handgun caliber; .40Super. It never really took off in the USA but I'd use it for duty/protection/CC if it was more common.
Of the popular handgun calibers, I would pick the .357sig. It's a street-LE proven caliber that is highly under-rated by the public & the shooting sports industry.
As for big bore or rifle calibers, I'd pick the .338Lapua & maybe the 6.8SPC II round. I have heard recent chatter on the gun forums & magazines that the 6.8SPC is not so hot. :(
The concept is sound but a 5.56mm or larger 7.62mm may be a better selection for a AR or patrol/defense type rifle.

9mm Luger

It's fun, soft shooting, accurate, affordable, has a very large handgun selection to choose from, and is very effective for self defense with the proper load.

With good reason it's so popular all around the world among civilians shooters, cops, and militaries.

- "Fun/Plinking" - .32 H&R Mag out of a Single Six. Also great BUG in 100 gr JHP in S&W Airweight.
- "Serious" - .44 Special - for the same reasons folks have applauded their .45s, big and slow, load it hi or low, great all 'rounder and doesn't get much better for low sturm und drang SD.

The only reason I clicked this thread is because it said that WESHOOT2 had posted in it and it's been at least a couple weeks since I've seen ".41 AE" printed anywhere.

Of course I'm right! ;)

.357/38. I'm a reloader and simply LOVE what all you can do with this caliber/gun. LOVE LOVE LOVE it. :)

I have 2 favorite handgun cartridges. In an auto, it'd have to be .45ACP. In a revolver, no doubt .45 Colt. I have a preference for big heavy bullets and in a stout revolver I can handload the Colt way beyond what any factory loading is offering. Needless to say this is all subject to change as I add calibers to my collection. .454 Casull is probably going to be the next addition.

Judging by my reloading bench, the shear amount of practice and competition, I'd have to say the 38 Special.

Wanted to say something else, but can't argue with pure volume.
