I'd prefer to carry my .45ACP Defender on my hip everywhere I go but that's just not a good idea. OP possibly is in the same position. My P3AT gets a lot more carry time and often my NAA .22mag finds it's way into my pocket as well. Stray dogs and regular inspections keep the bore lint free. An S&W M37 rides along in a pocket holster if the pants are baggy enough.
Cool thing about pocket carry. You can have your hand on your weapon in an uncomfortable stuation without drawing much attention. May save as much as .5 second in putting the critical first round on target and may take BG by surprise as well. Try that with a strong side belt holster!
I welcome speculation about my manliness, BTW. My favorite 1911 mags have hot pink or green bumpers. But that's off-topic, isn't it?
