Whats the most you ever paid for a pistol & was it worth it ??

I sprung $900 for a used, nickel P7M8 about 10 years ago. It was worth every penny but I had to sell it to buy a house. I will own another before I die...

hey, where are all the Korth owners who paid more than $4k for their piece?

E.T., I'm not sure there are more than three people here who even know what a Korth is!!! BTW what caliber do you have?? Even if I cannot ever afford it, that .357 sure looks sweet!!! :D

Denfoote,

I do not (repeat, do not) own a Korth as they are way too expensive for me !!!! Nevertheless I consider myself a happy owner of a P99 (check out my previous mail on this thread).

People who do not know about Korth pistols and revolvers can check them out (and their prices) at the web site of Earl's Repair Service.

;)

$650 on a HK USP 45 and the only doubts I have now are whether I should have thrown down a couple hundred more for the tactical. LOVE IT! Of course I went the cheap route recently and I'll be getting me cz75B in a couple days for 300 less so I'll be able to compare.

I thought Korth had gone out of business?

Pretty guns, but from what I understand they looked a hell of a lot better than they shot.

One of those things where if you get the urge to "wipe yourself" with your money, it's a slightly less wasteful alternative.

Colt Single Action Army Nickel which started PEELING. Which sucked for $1500. On the other hand, I recently bought a Sig 220 Stainless for $735 that is WELL WORTH the money. Unbelievable!

In 92 I bought a Glock-17 w/ Trijicon night sights paid $697.62. I liked this pistol, still carry it. In the last year I put on extended mag catch/slide stop. In Mar added a 3.5# trigger job. These 3 things cost $114 so now I paid $811.62 for this pistol. Is it worth it? No. After taking combat training I fond out this pistol is too big for my hand. So I need a new carry pistol.

I have spent $2100 on a Springfield Professional Model and
$2300 on a Nowlin Crusader with a standard barrel, and a comp barrel fitted built on a STI frame. Both barrels, night sights, hard chrome and 5 STI 10 round mags are what pushed it price up.

Sold the SA Pro model for $2100 and the Nowlin for $2500.
Both were worth it.

Best deal so far, Colt National Match almost new in the box with manual and original receipt made in 1960...$800

Next best deal is the Nowlin being made now, it is my third from them, so I kinda got a special 3peat price!!!
Should be here in 5-6 weeks, it will be a one of a kind for them!!!

What's the most you ever paid for a pistol

I bought a Hammerli 208s, I believe I paid around $2400 including the extra mags and some grip work. It's a 22 LR pistol. I didn't care for it and ended up selling it and picking up a Pardini SP - also in 22 LR. For me, the Pardini balances "right" and the buffering for recoil reduction makes rapid fire pretty easy.

$760 for a Colt Defender. I'm still not sure if its woth it. But I did get $100 worth of "FREE" indoor range time with it. That's 10 hours worth. I dunno, I got it because there was a layaway and everytime I had the money they would be bought up before I could get to em'. It was a gun I always wanted but they were fairly rare in my area, so when I saw one that wasn't in someone's hand about to be sold, I asked, "So do you have a layaway plan?" The rest is history.

I paid $485.00 for a Springfied Loaded 1911 A1 + another $550.00 or so to have Bob Ford @ Rocky Mountain Arms go over th gun: Bear Coat finish (two Tone, Black / O.D.), carry bevel, trigger, slide to frame fit, barrel filt, night sights, stipple front strap and a few other things. The gun shoots less than 1.5" at 25 yards with 14 rounds of Federal ball and is 100% reliable with any ammo I feed it (as long as it is close to spec). Answer: The best money I have ever spent on a pistol.

There are alot of good people out there that can transform a base gun into something really special for alot less than what the big names want.:)
